Timax Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Hi all, I've spend a few evenings playing with the Armbian build-system and OPI4a, mainly trying to get Ethernet working reliably. There are two issues I've found: (almost) every second boot there are errors with PHY access (as if there was a race somewhere), neither DHCP nor static IPs are working (in scnerios when there are no issues with PHY). I've mainly focused on comparing Devicetrees to OrangePis' sources, and from newbie perspective, at least Ethernet part seems pretty complete. The next logical step would be to focus on the driver, but I figured, I'd ask if maybe someone has also been trying to work it out, and proceeded further? I'd appreciate any ideas of what I should check next. 0 Quote

sergiyd Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Issues for the actual image (no UI): no HDMI; Ethernet got address with DHCP, but cannot connect with SSH, even ping (ICMP) is not stable. Wifi works fine. The board is OK - tested with official debian image. 1 Quote
Lamerjack Posted March 13 Posted March 13 was trying the Armbian Imager because i was searching for an image for OrangePI RV2 that is not in download but is in the imager utility... And the RV2 image is marked of course as WorkInProgress... But i saw that here there is also 2 image for 4a maked as community support.. (that should be better than WIP) there is a command line trixie and a noble with XFCE (that let me think that HDMI works) somebody tried these images? If are usable i will plan to order a 4A that looks more interesting than RV2 0 Quote

Trunk are untested auto-builds and support for this board is from the community. Its functionality is unknown to the Armbian team. Get serial console logs. Werner Posted yesterday at 05:34 AM Posted yesterday at 05:34 AM That's not an issue. These fixup scripts are only there to allow dt overlays being configurable via parameters rather than having hard-coded pins for example. About the actual issue, no clue.
