Harutyun Kamalyan Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Hello. Has anybody tried to encode h264 on h5 via ffmpeg cedrus264? any help would be appropriated. thanks in advnace.
Igor Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Perhaps when this is delivered: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bootlin/allwinner-vpu-support-in-the-official-linux-kernel Quote H264 video encoding support This goal requires a funding target of 44000 EUR (i.e 13200 EUR in addition to the main goal of 17600 EUR and the previous stretch goals of 4400 EUR and 8800 EUR) Since they raised only around 30.000 EUR this might not be done.
Harutyun Kamalyan Posted May 30, 2018 Author Posted May 30, 2018 On h3 it is working fine, but they tell h5 is not tested.

Harutyun Kamalyan Posted May 30, 2018 Author Posted May 30, 2018 Yes. i have tried to build custom kernel of sunxi but no success yet. Igor, can i have any contact of you, to ask some questions there. if there are. thanks.
Harutyun Kamalyan Posted May 30, 2018 Author Posted May 30, 2018 @Igor Could you please recommend me a single board with h264 encoding support. the nano pi plus 2 was fine becouse it has builtin memory, but as i see kernel does not support yet. thanks in advnace.

H3 version must work while support for H5 is not existing. There is some Allwinner legacy kernel v3.10 but it is not supported and not possible to build just like that. It's dirty code with some Allwinner proprietary code. 10 minutes ago, Harutyun Kamalyan said: Igor, can i have any contact of you, to ask some questions there. if there are. thanks. I answer only here: if I know the answer, want and have time for that. 2 minutes ago, Harutyun Kamalyan said: Could you please recommend me a single board with h264 encoding support. I don't deal with this at all but perhaps somebody else on the forum could add their experiences. I only know there is not possible on Allwinner with a modern kernel.
