GPS dongle on USB issue

Hi everbody,

 

I am trying to get my GPS dongle connected to my USB but it does not work. The idea is, to have Opencpn installed and GPS connected to it.

My system:
Orange Pi 1
ARMBIAN 5.59 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.65-sunxi
GPSD installed

So on USB8 the dongle looks like installed. I am trying to get the signal from /dev/ttyUSB8 but nothing works. Anybody have any idea what I have been missing? Thanks for some help.

The device number 8 in USB doesn't mean that it is appearing as /dev/ttyUSB8, no related ...

Since "dmesg" says "registered new interface driver cdc_acm", check if it is appearing as /dev/ttyACM0 ...

used /dev/ttyACM0 did not work either....the GPS dongle is blinking and receiving signal...
