hackerman64 Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 Hello, when I run dietpi-software and select some software to install, it gives me this error. Can someone help me? I had to install armbian on my Rock64 and then ran the install dietpi script. Tido Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 Hi, If you ask here for help with dietPi, this is equal to got to an Apple Forum and asking for help with Microsoft Windows. Both are Operating Systems, but there are major differences. So, if you want to install and use armbian, WELCOME. If you want to stay with dietPi have a look at their forum. Cheers Tido
hackerman64 Posted December 7, 2018 Author Posted December 7, 2018 Hi Tido, Thank you for the reply. I understand what you said but the reason I posted this is because I installed armbian on my Rock64 and then ran the dietpi script. I just don't understand what this error code means sicne it contains the armbian local paths. Apart from dietpi forum. Can you help me identify this error at least? Thank you
Tido Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 I have Google'd it for you: DietPi-Update | G_AGUP/G_AGUG: Now runs prior to our patch system. Ensuring APT is upto date during our updates: I looks to me like you were running general Software-Update, this is in armbian done with: sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade (you can try these if you have armbian installed) You see the difference, just as I said before.
hackerman64 Posted December 7, 2018 Author Posted December 7, 2018 Thanks once again for going out of way to help. Will use this information

That script severely cripples the system and security of the system, kill optimisations and install spyware. Once you do that, you lost all of our support. It is worth to do that to be able to install some software from the menu driven utility? Rather type "softy" on a clean Armbian. If your desired app is not there, make use of those superb instructions for installing software they best and cleanest way possible:https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials Your system will run optimally (not "optimally") and without anyone checking on you.
hackerman64 Posted December 7, 2018 Author Posted December 7, 2018 Thanks Igor. Will utilize the digital link for help
