mbo Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Hi, I've downloaded and successfully installed Armbian_5.47_Odroidc2_Debian_stretch_default_3.16.57 on an Odroid C2 (eMMC) : HDMI output is working fine. Then I ran: apt-get update then apt-get upgrade then I got a message saying that the kernel has been updated and that I need to reboot. After the reboot, I have no HDMI output anymore. SSH is available and board seems to be working fine. For information, after the update: uname -a Linux jeedom 3.16.57-odroidc2 #72 SMP PREEMPT Wed Sep 19 12:32:15 CEST 2018 aarch64 GNU/Linux Tried this without success. I've tested with other cable and screen, no success.
Igor Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Please provide content of /boot/boot.ini or /boot/cmd
mbo Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 Find them attached. I made a backup of the boot.ini file before upgrading. At the end, there is no diff between the boot.ini file and the backup file. What strange is that the screen is on and does not write "no signal". I also attached the result of dmesg. boot.cmd.txt boot.ini.txt dmesg-hdmi.txt dmesg.txt
TonyMac32 Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 have you tried to unplug/replug the monitor?
mbo Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 Yes, screen goes off and on but nothing is displayed. Also tried other HDMI cables and another display. I made another test: installed Armbian_5.59_Odroidc2_Debian_stretch_default_3.16.57, console output is displayed on my HDMI screen. Then apt-get update and upgrade and then no more console output. mbo Posted January 30, 2019 Author Posted January 30, 2019 I have found the update that is causing the issue: linux-stretch-root-odroidc2 5.73 If I update this one, there is no more output on HDMI
mbo Posted January 31, 2019 Author Posted January 31, 2019 Does someone knows where I can find the code for this package? I will check for changes from release 5.59 to release 5.70. What can cause the external HDMI display to be on but to not have console output? Thank you
