r_knipp Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 (edited) Armbianmonitor: http://ix.io/1CLG Hi, I did a dist-upgrade on my BPi M1. Now it is running on ARMBIAN 5.73 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.7.3-sunxi When I choose a newer kernel in armbian-config after the reboot it is still running with the old kernel. When I do an apt-get upgrade it shows this error in the output: update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-4.20.7-sunxi with 1 The BPi is booting from SSD with LVM. Thank you very much for any help. Regards, Robert Edited March 7, 2019 by r_knipp
Igor Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 SDcard's /boot folder must be mounted to /boot all the time. Mount it (add to fstab) and manually install image + dtb package.

Two or three years ago I found an instruction, how to boot Armbian from lvm, that worked for me, but with this problem I'm overwhelmed. When I try to mount /dev/mmcblk0p1/boot I get an error. What do I exactly have to do to run the system on the lvm as if it is running on the SD card?
GilGonGan Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 Did you ever solve this? I may have a similar issue, I've been googling for hours and just found your reply. https://forum.armbian.com/topic/10480-attempted-jessie-to-stretch-failed-likely-dead-on-reboot/
