I lauch a simple file encoding from an AV1 file to x265 : sudo ffmpeg -i file1.AV1.mkv -c:v hevc_rkmpp -c:a copy ~/Downloads/file1.x265.mkv The result is a file that has a correct size, but is unreadable, black screen.

  6. Since U-Boot v2025.04 works very well on Orange Pi Zero v3 and has a shorter boot process time, if there was a possibility to switch to U-Boot v2504 for Orange Pi Zero V1, I would be grateful, as would probably other users of this SBC Regards
  7. The issue appears to be two things. These two patches and the current defconfig(s) being used. drv-rtc-sun6i-support-RTCs-without-external-LOSCs.patch drv-rtc-sun6i-Add-Allwinner-H616-support.patch When I disable those patches and use my own defconfig everything works as it should. https://paste.armbian.com/tixixocubu The hard part here would be figuring out exactly what in the defconfig(s) are either breaking things or missing. Also if I disable those patches, what does it break on other units? I'm under the impression these patches were rejects from the original h616 bring up in mainline. But I could be wrong?

  9. Providing logs with armbianmonitor -u helps with troubleshooting and significantly raises chances that issue gets addressed.
  10. If you need hdmi support use vendor or edge kernel. 6.12 was released with a bare minimum of support for rk3588 so nonworking hdmi is kind a expected.

I hadn't done an upgrade but a fresh install; (v25.5.1 for Raspberry Pi 3 Model B running Armbian Linux 6.12.28-current-bcm2711) Realised that I had the same problem, only channel 2 was present; though I only realised something was missing when I'd tried RaspberryOS on a Pi Zero with the same i2c device. Adding to the /boot/config.txt didn't of itself solve the issue; adding the i2c1 to the armbian-config overlays also didn't see. However I did find the `/boot/firmware/config.txt` that has a lot more settings, and seems to be where armbian-config edits Note the `dtparam-i2c_arm=on` line... which was commented out. Adding that back and it works... (well after figuring out I needed to level shift the i2c device but that's another story) # For more options and information see # http://rptl.io/configtxt # Some settings may impact device functionality. Remote backup maybe only as data ... e.g. restic / rsync programs In my opinion it is best to make a backup of the SD card in linux connect miniSD card and make a backup in terminal: fdisk -l if your SD card is: sda / sda1.... then choose sda ! and then make a backup: dd if=/dev/sda of=/path_to_backup.img status=progress Restoring the image to the SD card with the same size: dd bs=4M if=/path_to_copy.img of=/dev/sdb status=progress If you want to burn the image to a smaller capacity SD card because, for example, the system is only 30% occupied, use the program:PiShrink https://github.com/Drewsif/PiShrink it works great for me for Armbian 🙂 sudo pishrink.sh /path_to_backup.img / /new_backup-Pishrink.img

  21. I had a look in /var/log/gdm3/, which was originally denying me permission but after obtaining access, it is empty, so no GDM log, as least in this folder. I also edited custom.conf to enable GDM logs but it had no effect. I was curious to know why there is a GDM3 folder, rather then GDM.
  22. please show the output of "apt policy zfs-dkms" but essentially, this looks the same as your other rodeo/struggle with this board and dkms. As mentioned there, you are much better off with btrfs instead of zfs on your SBC.

About bcachefs, for your sake, let's hope Linus Torvalds goes back on his comment that he and Kent will split ways in kernel 6.17 then so you won't have to rely on dkms for your unstable filesystem. bcachefs is in beta and should not be used as primary filesystem. Maybe the same reason you "don't read links". xD Has nothing to do with "trust", it has to do with how COW and send|receive works witch you don't seem to understand/ignore. And ofc an rsync (suddenly you talk about rsync instead of btrfs send -p) will work, it just checks if the files are changed and update them if necessary, witch is exactly what I have been saying is the better way for backups the whole time. IMHO it's even better to just create the subvolume(s) and rsync from the first run altogether if you want a backup, send|receive is not necessary and is just slow. And in the case of a complete backup incl boot like shrink-backup does by dd:ing the "boot sector" (witch includes potential boot partition), all that has to be done is make sure configs point to the new UUID (in case of rpi derivative systems nothing has to be done, because they use PARTUUID witch can be the same in contrast to UUID). If you "don't want to click links" to learn, I won't pressure you. You already seem triggered for some reason. But for others that might read this I hope my knowledge about backup strategies came through. Again, snapshots are perfect for rollbacks, but NOT for backups. Have a good Saturday.

  25. Hi im having problems when booting armbian on my OPI5P it is just blinking green and not showing a picture. I am using this version of Armbian: Armbian_25.5.1_Orangepi5-plus_noble_current_6.12.28_gnome_desktop.img and I have tried it on all boot media i have available (NVME, USB and SD card) but none worked. Sorry if there are any gramatical errors, I am from germany and my english isnt the best.

  27. My pihole is a virtual machine; I do not use SD-card for it, I keep virtual machine 'objects' around on various machines, so I do not have to wait 'burning' SD-cards. I can tell way more to prevent further assumptions being made about how I operate computers in my home and foreign country, but this is getting boring. I won't click all the various URLs. I would rather start using bcachefs (again) and see how long it will take before Kent Overstreet will have added a send|receive in there like now is available in ZFS and Btrfs. But it seems you did not get the point that I use the word 'snapshot' to identify both: (pseudo code) raspi1:/.snapshots/numberX/snapshot and othermachine:/backups/numberY/snapshot (and multiple othermachines, clone NAS as I said) On raspi1 it is local on SD-card, on othermachine(s) is the exact same filetree and same subvol (received) UUID. If I would not trust btrfs send|receive, which could be the case sometimes when doing btrfs development kernel patching around 2013 timeframe, I could do a an rsync -avxc between the 2, where 1 side is a just taken RW snapshot of the otherwise RO snapshot. So you will see rsync do writes to the RW subvol if something had gone wrong with kernel implementation or userspace. Or if i manually poked 1 sector random data in some some random file at some random offset (simulating a HDD bad sector). I have done that as test several times. It take time to do that between 2 4TB HDDs but not a problem.
