  1. @Alex83 be aware S812 is no rk3229 you can deep brik this device , Amlogic has no fallback to sd card when internal memory fail or boot loader missing only real way is to get into boot loader and install aml_autoscript.zip than you get multiboot and can use sdcard as linux boot drive
  2. ricoh rn5t618m is the power managment IC , if this is your main error than also a image can not help you its look like you found the startup problem if the power IC get wrong settings from image maybe a linux can help When you get multiboot activate you can boot from SD or USB , you have not to fear to brick because orginal android is not touched ( get a orginal image is hard to find because of the varity of the box ) maybe someone else can jump in and have more ideas about the thermal problems
  3. i do not know if there will be a new build because balbes150 has stop working on this box , but on kernel GIT and linx GIT there still some person who fix things maybe you have to ask there.
  4. please look at page 33 @jock and a @gnusmag45 have this topic about the JWA60 memory its a eMCP Memory https://forum.armbian.com/topic/12656-csc-armbian-for-rk322x-tv-boxes/?do=findComment&comment=124401
  5. i have a backup of my android 6 (multiboot) but i do not had extract the dtb from Android -> some amazon reseller are als sold this box with android 8 ( but i have not found any update rom from android 6 to android 8 ) thats the one from me android 6 https://www.amazon.de/Neueste-Leelbox-Q2-Android-unterstützt-Schwarz/dp/B074PX2T9R same box with android 8 https://www.amazon.de/Leelbox-Android-Volles-H-265-Version/dp/B07PHK9N31 last website from leelbox(i do not now if this original leelbox website , leelbox-tech is close ) https://www.leelbox.blog/tag/firmware-update/ some android 7.1 https://www.leelbox.blog/2018/05/23/prime-video-not-working-try-to-update-firmware-for-leelbox-rk-chip-android-7-1-tv-box-via-pc/
  6. @jock its look like my Leelbox Q2 board in many ways , but my has AP6255 and the front LCD clock display https://forum.armbian.com/topic/12656-csc-armbian-for-rk322x-tv-boxes/?do=findComment&comment=123806
  7. short goog le and i found OMV has its own network-manager , all settings in interfaces will be ignore you have to set all network things inside OMV https://forum.openmediavault.org/index.php?thread/23034-network-manager/&postID=176055
  8. hi and welcome when Armbian 5.67 boot fine , multiboot is active. for Armbian later 19.xx than you have to edit path and filename inside ambianEnv.txt. you do not not need copy and rename
  9. for 1 - ok only nand thats ok for 2 - please ignore i did not know multitool can handle gzip/XZ/tar and that the fat partition should be bigger ( its was maybe a bug that my sdcard had only 800mb fat partition) for 3 - i work most of the time in CLI so "nano" it what i know feel free to use "vi" , thats my personal thought to change order and modifcate armbianEnv.txt direct after "rk322x-config"
  10. Thanky for the Info about Zip/Gzip/XZ format , i use belanerEtcher for writing multitool image to SD-card
  11. nice work some comments 1. i do not know if you get all box from same manufactor ( or if manufactor use always NAND) , maybe you have to show also eMMC install 2. after flash multiboot.img i had only 800mb partition (enought for "buster minimal.img" ) i had to boot it once because resize of fat32 partition than i got enought space for "buster desktop.img" 3. its maybe easyer to change armbianEnv.txt direct after rk322x-config , when a user unintend reboot the box you have the cpu-stability modifcation on . ( you can use "sudo nano" inside CLI for edit files)
  12. please look at page 34 @fabiobassa and @ArkhanLK with @jockspeak about Mali400 driver and Desktop with HW-Video and some problems
  13. @Charles Bauer wow nice project to achieve a good performance for Browser and YouTube is not easy way my experience with raspberry 3b and as image DietPi, Raspbian or Ubuntu (Wireless over 5GHz or 100 Mbit link) as browser I test chromium and Firefox and some small browser all configuration I used has a lack of media acceleration because of missing free-GPU driver and the bottleneck of SD-Card (sometimes also lack of RAM) most of the time I can open only max 3 Tabs than it gets very slow , youtube only 360p or less (360p i got only 15fps ) ( my smartphone moto g5 2GB Ram has 10 Tab in chrome and did not get slower; my wife's laptop has 30 tabs in Firefox and Firefox used only 2GB Ram for this) I did not test this rk3229 chip, but I thing because of missing free MALI-driver it maybe have same issues I hope you get a better performance I also work more on the hardware side as on software but for my browser experience I switch to a rk3328 box with android and a chrome browser
  14. thanks for that fast reponse after 2 more crash i also change governer to "schedule" -> my box sitting now at 1 ghz at 55 degree and is fine now (about 4h) before i saw that every http request request the cpu to up to all 4cores 100% for 1sec and also fast switch of cpu frequency and temp (50degree to 65 degree )for the 1sec after that goes down to 600mhz , maybe the fast up and down related to the issue thanks for the info about apps
  15. i am on mainline kernel 5.10 i had befor set cpu from 400MHz to limit 1.2GHz max -> to limit thermal output after that kernel panic i switch back to 600Mhz to 1.39GHz ( after kernel panic armbian-config has no 400Mhz option) now its little bit better (could a app like php3 , nginx, mariadb do a kernel panic like above ? ) but i hope i will not be get worse
  16. i do not know if something change in last apt upgrade for rk332x root or image but i got today kernel faults and emmc problem emmc problems like the one i report when i config emmc in armbianEnv.txt my box tell me 398% CPU usage kernel panic kernel:[ 519.498786] Internal error: Oops: 805 [#1] PREEMPT SMP ARM Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 21:45:02 ... kernel:[ 519.645677] Process kworker/0:3 (pid: 1159, stack limit = 0x6b325425) Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 21:45:02 ... kernel:[ 519.652911] Stack: (0xb38ffc80 to 0xb3900000) Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 21:45:02 ... kernel:[ 519.657808] fc80: 200e0013 00000001 b38ffcac b38ffc98 b103e600 b01879f4 b1d04938 00000001 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 21:45:02 ... kernel:[ 519.667000] fca0: b38ffcd4 b38ffcb0 b089a0d0 b103e5f0 ffffffff b0899f80 00000001 b38ffd08 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 21:45:02 ... kernel:[ 519.676192] fcc0: b1d11824 00000000 b38ffd04 b38ffcd8 b014ba44 b0899f8c b1d05b40 b1d11800 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 21:45:02 ... kernel:[ 519.685385] fce0: b1780e90 b1c05e40 b1606808 00000001 00000000 b4737080 b38ffd3c b38ffd08 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 21:45:02 ... kernel:[ 519.694577] fd00: b088ce80 b014b9d8 b1d05b40 23c34600 30a32c00 d4a8b198 b088f660 b1c05e40 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 21:45:02 ... kernel:[ 519.703770] fd20: b1c05e40 00000000 00000001 b1c05300 b38ffd5c b38ffd40 b088cf4c b088ce04 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 21:45:02 ... kernel:[ 519.712962] fd40: b1c05e40 b1c05240 00000000 00000001 b38ffd7c b38ffd60 b088cf10 b088ceb0 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 21:45:02 ... kernel:[ 519.722155] fd60: b1c05240 b1c05300 00000000 00000001 b38ffd9c b38ffd80 b088cf10 b088ceb0 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 21:45:02 ... kernel:[ 519.731348] fd80: b1d1ca80 b1606808 30a32c00 30a32c00 b38ffddc b38ffda0 b0892dd4 b088ceb0 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 21:45:02 ... kernel:[ 519.740539] fda0: 30a32c00 00000000 ffffffff 30a32c00 b1d04000 d4a8b198 b38ffddc b30fadc0 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.592688] [<b0892e54>] (clk_set_rate) from [<b0c21ae0>] (dev_pm_opp_set_rate+0x28c/0x588) Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.602072] r5:30a32c00 r4:b81ae800 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.606113] [<b0c21854>] (dev_pm_opp_set_rate) from [<af0970a4>] (set_target+0x38/0x3c [cpufreq_dt]) Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.616380] r10:00000000 r9:00000000 r8:00000001 r7:00000000 r6:b18a0a8c r5:b1606808 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.625174] r4:b48c2200 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.628042] [<af09706c>] (set_target [cpufreq_dt]) from [<b0c277d8>] (__cpufreq_driver_target+0x1bc/0x540) Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.638895] [<b0c2761c>] (__cpufreq_driver_target) from [<b0c2b7d0>] (cs_dbs_update+0xd8/0x14c) Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.648674] r10:b1800a20 r9:00000000 r8:b4a6f5c0 r7:b4a73600 r6:000cd140 r5:b48c2200 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.657469] r4:b4a73100 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.660334] [<b0c2b6f8>] (cs_dbs_update) from [<b0c2bd44>] (dbs_work_handler+0x3c/0x64) Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.669333] r9:00000000 r8:b17c03e0 r7:b48c2200 r6:b4a73104 r5:00000000 r4:b4a73148 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.678047] [<b0c2bd08>] (dbs_work_handler) from [<b0142bc4>] (process_one_work+0x224/0x60c) Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.687535] r9:00000000 r8:00000000 r7:eedd7d00 r6:eedd4980 r5:b1fcd280 r4:b4a73148 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.696254] [<b01429a0>] (process_one_work) from [<b0143018>] (worker_thread+0x6c/0x584) Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.705354] r10:eedd4980 r9:b1604900 r8:eedd49a4 r7:00000008 r6:eedd4980 r5:b1fcd294 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.714151] r4:b1fcd280 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.717017] [<b0142fac>] (worker_thread) from [<b014a12c>] (kthread+0x19c/0x1b4) Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.725335] r10:b1de1e68 r9:00000000 r8:b1fcd280 r7:b0142fac r6:b3096000 r5:b1fe7000 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.734130] r4:b1fcd200 Message from syslogd@rk322x-box at Jun 17 22:03:33 ... kernel:[ 63.736993] [<b0149f90>] (kthread) from [<b0100148>] (ret_from_fork+0x14/0x2c)
  17. @jock i have a small request is it possible to get a 4 led config ? i got with Ledconfig 1 -power =first red than red and blue on ( i thing its not good for Led) -kernel = blue on -power off = red and blue on ledconfig 2 -power =red on -kernel = red on ,blue disk work status -power off = red on ledconfig3 -power = red on -kernel = red off , blue off my request ledconfig4 power= red on kernel = red off, blue on also after ledconfig3 the box did not get back to ledconfig1 mode at reboot only with power off ledconfig3 to ledconfig2 work with reboot
  18. @beretas i think 70-91 degree is not a unnormal reading , my box get idle 60 degree , load at 80 degree , @jock and other already told me that normal , also my other rockchip 3328 box idle at android at 40-50 degree load above 70-90 degree i also have a amlogic box M8S with a S812 cpu there idle around 30 degree and load at 50 degree but first step to get linux on this box is little bit complex.
  19. hi and welcome there is no a to z guide how to get linux to the box because like i wrote before therer a big mix of diffirent boxes ( 3 diffferent wifi chip , 3 or 4 different Lan chip) also most of the armbian community only work with and on open source or community Software. ubuntu is a linux armbian is ubuntu linux or debian linux with tools and setup for small space envoirments its possible to run this box as a slow NAS ( only USB2 support ; most of the box only has 2.4GHz Wlan N ) ; Plex or Media box still a problem because the media recode is not optimal ( lag of graphic driver) i thing on page 24...26 i wrote some steps ( but feel free to write a guide ) be balbes150 has stop his work on this Amlogic Armbian release but there are some work on the linux Kernel for AMLOGIC chipset but its slow . there are 3 main steps 1. get the bootloader unlock for multiboot with the aml_autoscript.zip from Android or from TWRP 2. get the armbian on a SD-Card ( beleanerEtcher or ImageWrite32 ) 3 get the right setup to boot linux ( dtb files)
  20. @jock also emmc-nand produce the error , i can boot only without any of the 3 settings
  21. for 2 i do other way i underclock the cpu because of my opinion too hot cpu @jock i got my box to a 100% load on all 4 cores from bug webservice its run at 85 degree stable with 1.2Ghz ( i dont know why last time ( first time with linux after switch from android) at 75 degree the box freeze and short after black screen maybe it wasnt a thermal problem . for 3. i have same problem with UUID , but for me its was only to delete the emmc or nand or emmc-nand part from the armbianENV, the rk3229 and the ledconfig1 parts work great.
  22. i found the leelbox blog with a image for my box attached dtb and dts , and dts with child -@ rk-kernel.dts rk-kernel.dtb rk-kernel2.dts
  23. @fabiobassa thanks for fast answer , i know some tools from amlogic when android still at internal memoryy ->read boot partition , extract file , convert dtb to dts . but i have no instruction for read boot partition from a image ( and no i have no orginal image leelbox-tech.com is only a placeholder) , i have also no clou how read that from backup file my infrared thermo meter say also around 45-50 degree , also my finger say it get warm
  24. i did not want back to android , the box works great with linux . is there a way to extract dtb from backup file ? i attached the pic of the board
  25. Hallo team first thanks for the good work i am now a long time active with balbes150 on the Amlogic S805/S812 forum side , but last week i bought two Rockchip box for small amount . i am very happy for this good support on this box my box Leelbox Q2 Pro RK3229 2gb ddr3 / 16GB emmc , Ap6255 but i have two problems first is that both trigger of the rk322x-config tool ->emmc and nand are stop the initramfs script to boot the box i always get stuck that the uuid of emmc is missing or incorrect , without the emmc or nand config the box works great !!!! secound the high idle temperature of the box , i have long time a M8S Box with a Amlogic S812 and the idle temp is around 30-35 celcius , this rockchip box are idle at around 55-60 celcius , some load and the box hit the 75 celcius and shut down ( also the other rockchip box with rk3328 idle around 55 celcius on android) is that normal or do i have a faulty chip ? both problem on latest buster minimal 20.04 kernel 5.10 and bionic desktop 20.04 kernel 5.10 rom i dont use the lagecy kernel 4.4 rom because i didnt not get wifi running
