hexdump
allwinner h6 tv boxes usually do not have a voltage regulator for the cpu voltage and thus always run at full voltage even if the frequency is scaled down, so throttling is very inefficient here - in my experience they close to always need active cooling to deal with any serious load for a longer time at full cpu frequency ... i only have one board where i replaced the original heat sink with a much larger one and added fresh high quality thermal paste between it and the soc and that one can run without a fan if not in a case (i.e. good air flow) ... s905x3 is much cooler as its cores are done in a 12nm process vs. the 28nm process of the h6

But I'm not sure it's this much. It's only clocked to 1.7Ghz and performs way worse than the OPi3 @ 1.8Ghz without heatsink or fan. That throttles less. So I'm not sure the numbers are correct. I always keep my test data. So here's some from the time the OPi3 was released. The PineH64 did even a bit better. Look underneath at the temps of sbc-bench 7-zip. All tests are done in as same as possible conditions. OPi3 no fan SBC-Bench : http://ix.io/1EOn with fan 5V Blender : 2h11m11s SBC-Bench : http://ix.io/1EpH http://ix.io/1EPl with fan 3.3V + heatsink maxed : 52°C/66°C/70°C???? Blender : 2h13m21s 2h12m25s Pine H64 1.5Ghz No heatsink/fan : http://ix.io/1Ffr blender 2h41m05s 1.8Ghz heatsink : http://ix.io/1Flu no heatsink : http://ix.io/1FlD heatsink+3.3Vfan : http://ix.io/1Fnk Blender 2h10m43s The differences are too big in my opinion. Here no heatsink and no fan perform better than the TX6 with a lot of heatsink. I noted there that I got different readings with the OPi3 with fan 3.3V. One boot it was 52C doing a full benchmark of +2h. Another time 66C, then another 70C. I believe we then fixed that. But it's a long time ago and my memory is very bad.
