freebat
HI I just bought 2 neo3 and started with Armbian and the MAC address is the same. But using the official image is a different MAC address. How can I use Armbian so that neo3 has the correct unique MAC address? I use cmd xxd / sys / bus / nvmem / devices / rockchip-efuse0 / nvmem I get the same value. Edited August 26, 2020 by freebat
Werner
Try setting a random MAC via armbianEnv.txt in /boot

nickngsr
The NanoPi NEO3 actually has a hardware mac address (branded as Microchip), with the FriendlyElec FriendlyCore distro it uses that correctly, Armbian however still generates a fake one. What do we need to do to change that?

What do we need to do to change that? Hi. I hope I'm not saying too much stupidity but it seems to me that we have to turn to the Device-Tree. When we start a Neo3 version everything happens as if we had an R2S. I found a source code that is for the Neo3 but I don't know how to do that.
TonyB.ca
Because this thread is so dated, I created a new posting with more details. Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS does not have the same problem. see:
