Antipode Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 (edited) Hi, first post here. After upgrading Armbian on my Odroid-N2 to 5.8.13-meson64, I can no longer mount using autofs, neither manually nor via systemctl. The error message is: mount: /home/<mountdir>: unknown filesystem type 'aufs'. The Armbian Build Options information suggests that kernel builds include AUFS by default: AUFS ( yes | no ): Include support for AUFS Am I missing something? Armbian version is #20.08.6 SMP PREEMPT Thu Oct 1 18:51:27 CEST 2020 Edited October 8, 2020 by Antipode Typos
Werner Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Providing logs with armbianmonitor -u helps with troubleshooting and significantly raises chances that issue gets addressed.
Werner Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 AUFS has not been updated to 5.8 yet. Therefore it is not included. Just gave it a shot with the last branch available but patching fails Processing file /home/build/build/cache/sources/aufs5/aufs5.x-rcN/aufs5-base.patch 1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file fs/read_write.c.rej 1 out of 5 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file include/linux/fs.h.rej 1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file include/linux/mnt_namespace.h.rej
Werner Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 There will be no support for AUFS for a couple of month: https://www.mail-archive.com/aufs-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg05822.html Also see https://github.com/sfjro/aufs5-standalone/issues/2
Antipode Posted October 9, 2020 Author Posted October 9, 2020 Many thanks for looking into this. I downgraded to 5.7 and AUTOFS is working as ever before.
