Slackstick Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Have an old K-R42. How can this image be flashed? Linux "upgrade_tool uf hirsute-preinstalled-desktop-arm64+raspi.img" results in Loading firmware... Loading firmware failed! Thanks
SteeMan Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Moved to a new thread as this was posted in a thread dealing with a different box.
SteeMan Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 @Slackstick The image name you have quoted doesn't resemble any armbian build I am aware of. Where did you find this image you are trying to install? If it isn't armbian based then this is not the correct place to be asking your question.
Slackstick Posted March 3, 2021 Author Posted March 3, 2021 Sorry, used the wrong image and wrong commands. It flashed with "sudo ./upgrade_tool di -b Armbian_21.05.0-trunk_Rk3188_hirsute_current_5.10.9.img", but image didn't start (screen black).

They are written to the SD card by the appropriate program for recording images. Also on your device, you may need to adapt the standard firmware to run external systems from the SD card.
manuti Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 @SlackstickMaybe this old post from Linuxium can give you an idea about how proceed: http://www.linuxium.com.au/how-tos/gaoptions
