[Invalid] - xu4 with ZFS as root fs / on sd card

Hello,

i saw a post regarding ZFS >  zfs

 

What is the current state of ZFS support? Is it a stable to run ZFS as FS for root fs only on SD card (16-32GB)? I need that for an easy backup on FS level using send/rec commands. But as we know xu4 is 32bit only - > maybe problem with stability - stability 32bit

Or maybe is there a point to use zfs for root fs at all? what about LMV?

Your issue report is not a valid bug report per the Armbian bug reporting instructions (https://www.armbian.com/bugs).  With limited resources the Armbian project is only able to spend time on issues where all the requested information has been provided and for only the boards/images/software that are supported.  Your report is invalid for one or more of the following reasons (non-exhaustive list):

• it is for software that is not supported (such as userspace modules installed on top of the core operating system)

• it could have been easily solved by a quick search and/or reading documentation

It builds on all boards and already that was resourceful enough to secure. We don't check how implementation works, but we might when you will need this badly enough to help us.

Armbian has close to nothing to do with this 3rd party file system. We provide ZFS as a out of the tree module, which you build and use whatever you like. You should ask such question at ZFS project, not here or at Hardkernel forum. They are not even on our level.

Since many years we provide BTRFS install from our armbian-config. We could ofc some day provide ZFS as well, but adding this is not simple, R&D is complicated and expensive and we only receive never ending wishes and demands ... almost nobody asks who is going to pay hours wasted on your pleasure or what people that might provide that, need.
