Hi,

running armbian debian Linux odroid-backup 4.14.222-odroidxu4 ; and having attached 2x 3.5" disks i am getting so many disconnects in  dmesg log paste.debian.net/1205714/

Is that armbian / kernel / or odroid issue? So i can further investigate.

thank you

Can be none of above. Usually the problem is USB2SATA converter UASP support. We are blacklisting those known to fail working well, but its impossible to catch them all. Two things you can do - add ID of your converters to the kernel boot parameter to usb-storage.quirks=, /boot/armbianEnv.txt or /boot/boot.ini and try to upgrade kernel to 5.4.y. .... 4.14.y is abandoned by Hardkernel for some time afaik. Also possible, you can try (armbian-config -> system -> alternative kernel) latest and greatest 5.13.y.

@Igor thank you, i will try to upgrade kernel firstly. Also can I found that specific model of that usb2sata converter and see if its blacklisted or not? Maybe there is some list of good working usb2sata converters... no idea ;/

wanted to upgrade to 5.4.125 but there is missing package of linux-sources of 5.4.125 ... so will not work again...

Hi...can somebody let me know it would be ideal if you how I can include and outside capacity to the Odroid Xu4 for more rom space besides the smaller scale SD card that's utilized? I am utilizing an 256GB small scale SD card , but I would like to include an outside HDD too to be able to include more roms since my 256GB miniaturized scale SD card is as of now full.
