Peter Hauck Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 For a fresh install of the latest desktop version for OrangePi5 I cannot get the system to run from NVME which is a Samsung 960 Pro. It gets stuck on the spinner at boot for the first-time boot after NVME using SD - NVME in armbian-installer. Any suggestions... 0 Quote
Werner Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 I think armbian-install received fixes in the mean time. Try an Orange Pi 5 image from here: https://github.com/armbian/community/ 0 Quote
Peter Hauck Posted May 7, 2023 Author Posted May 7, 2023 I have tried all of the latest images for the Orange Pi and still have issues. Upon reboot it is failing back to CLI and request root as it has had a problem. 0 Quote
Peter Hauck Posted May 10, 2023 Author Posted May 10, 2023 I swapped out the Samsung 960 pro NVME with generic one and the it works. A simple Etcher image install on the SSD is the install method with no issues. 0 Quote
royk Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 I'd once problems after setting the alignment to 4k after setting it back to 512 it did work as it should, although this was when I dd copied an image to the nvme so I don't know if it applies when you install it via armbian-install. https://carlosfelic.io/misc/how-to-switch-your-nvme-ssd-to-4kn-advanced-format/ 0 Quote
