oh122 Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 I am using Wifi/BT USB dongle to connect network for Orange Pi 5. But it does not work with Armbian. It works smoothly with Orange Pi's Ubuntu and Debian distros. I just need to insert the dongle into USB 3 to work. Is there anything I can do to use the dongle with Armbian? My dongle is "USB WiFi Bluetooth Adapter Dual Band 2.4/5.8Ghz Wireless RTL8821CU Don-ig"; https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/404244701011 0 Quote
Werner Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Providing logs with armbianmonitor -u helps with troubleshooting and significantly raises chances that issue gets addressed. Also checkhttps://www.armbian.com/compatible/ 0 Quote

ricardo_brz Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Maybe it's being recognized as a different type of device? Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0bda:1a2b Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188GU 802.11n WLAN Adapter (Driver CDROM Mode) Try searching for "wifi usb recognized as mass storage", maybe you'll need something like this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Mobile_broadband_modem 0 Quote
SteeMan Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Also, you may need to install armbian-firmware-full as the default firmware package in the images is a trimmed down set of firmwares to minimize size. So the firmware for your device may not be installed by default. 0 Quote
oh122 Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 I installed armbian-firmware-full. But the same problem. I think the dongle is not supported yet. It's one of three dongles that Orange Pi support official. I hope this dongle support can be added in future. 0 Quote
