CSC Armbian for RK322x TV box boards

I tried to connect via ssh. the box provided the ip and mac address. I connected it like this: 1) lan option: PC -(lan)-  router  -(lan)- TV box. no connect. 2) Wi-Fi option: PC -(wifi)- router -(LAN)- TV box. no connect. Through the mobile application, Fing saw that the multitool did not have an open port. Although there are different IP and Mac addresses in multitool mode and Android mode. The multitool was downloaded from a link on this website

but that a good sign that the box get a ip address by dhcp , than its online , do you use the latest one from first page or my older ones from google drive ( 2023 and befor dont have ssh active)

 

there should be no diffirent mac and ip address because they use same hardware

I have 3 of the same androidtv as you, and they all boot from the armbian sdcard

 

try write this on sdcard and boot

Hello; multitool has the port 22 open and listening for ssh connections. If it does not show the open port, then it is either freezed or did not start at all.

Regarding your A6 Mini board, which seems the only one with rk322x, it is not a board that we have encountered here on the forums, which is quite curious since the board marks a production date of 2018. Consider it to be a fake board.

 

I have not exactly understood what is what, since you declare you have a 2/16 S905W board with fake specs and a 1/8 RK322x board with (supposedly) real specs, but they could easily be both fake. Looking on google for A6_Mini boards, I only see S905L devices. You also say LibreELEC boots, but you did not say on which of those two boards boots.

From the SD card multitool IP 192.168.1.43 MAC ........fe:9b    but when scanning ports, there are no free ones. Connection through Putty failed.

@Alexander Sokolov   Thank you for the links. I tried. But unfortunately, they didn't work either.  Did you install it via a multitool or directly onto an SD card using balenaEtcher or Rufus?

@jock    Communicating through a translator. Incorrect translations of my text are possible. This is a board that indicates 2/16 S905W but in fact it is 1/8 RK322x. On the previous page, I sent screenshots. Screenshot number 8 aida64 with the original factory firmware. This is one tv box. Maybe I should have reverted to the factory firmware after LibreELEC but I don't have a dump.

First of all, I recommend removing the radiator from the processor. To make sure that it's rk3228a. I use rpi image writer and balenaEtcher. And to check the operation of the multitool, it is best to connect the set-top box to the router. The console should be assigned an IP address and you can work with it via SSH, and you can use the screen command for the GUI interface of the utility.

@Александр Соколов Please look at the previous page. There is also a photo without a radiator. I connected it to the router. I accepted the IP address. I tried to connect via the windows command prompt, then through the Putty application. As a result, I scanned the network and found no open ports. yes every build that was compile has a minimal version that is the server one , please search for that at this post or github

Test to record multitool on other flash drives. You must be doing something wrong, because I have a 90% identical board. I have all Linux images loaded from both USB media and sdcard. Why multitool doesn't work is very unclear, it's more a question about your equipment from which you're recording.

@Александр Соколов I installed different versions of Android. Successfully installed LibreELEC. But couldn't handle Armbian. I struggled with it for 3 weeks. I'm tired already. The only thing I didn't try was installing from USB. I installed everything from SD, from different SD cards. Can you please tell me, did you always have an image through HDMI when installing Armbian?

the easiest thing to do in such cases is connect a ttl > usb converter to those well exposed pads to see what is going on putty or any serial terminal you desire, and help understand  why the box doesn't boot

As you can see from photos @Alexander has it's debug wires attached semi-permanently with hot glue and this i suggest to you.

Saying " I am already tired" really doesn't help a lot , instead giving as much infos as possible will lead to successfully run the box

If libreeelc boots, armbian will boot. I have the same box, among many others, and I can say it boots fine and works fine too with armbian

Ok, so I'm a newbie to Linux, I got the minimal image from the community but they are all minimal version, I want a version with a desktop, is it possible to convert the minimal? or can you link me a version with desktop?

I tried that one now, but my problem seems to be the same with all desktop versions, desktop wont boot, the keyboard and mouse connect don't turn on either.

my memory i eMMC.

I'll try to install the boot in the sd after installing to flash, maybe that will do the trick.

EDIT- No luck, any attempt to use a desktop img doesn't boot, hdmi and usb don't work, just the power led.

do you boot the minimal version , did they run good ? please provide version of minimal .  ( do you use lagecy version )

wich config did you use for  rk322x-config --> same has to be config to run dekstop

currently on the newst minimal version, it works fine, all ports work, I'm currently trying to manually install a xfce4, but lightdm.service isn't working.

EDIT - got a desktop to work via console, but i need to install anydesk, sadly it seems im missing multiple libraries bc sudo apt install anydesk tries to use a version for raspberry pi.

 

let me elaborate what I'm trying to do. I want to use my rk3229 as a wake on wan server, i cannot port forward, because my ISP doesnt allow it, I ask you to not suggest ways to port forward ive tried all of them, my isp locks down their router with no option for bridge mode.

 

my hope was to use anydesk, bc it has a native wake on wan feature as long as 2 machines are in the network.

 

EDIT 2 - I GOT IT! but I went with SSH terminal using tailscale for the connection, since I can't port forward, I'm sorry if anyone needs help, bc I dunno what I did, I spent a day taking photos of my screen and sending it to gemini (first good use of AI)

Can you help me with the following case? (i tried to look for in forums without success, the information that I've found is referenced to another branch noble instead my branch 'focal' but i think it could be similar)

 

i executed the following:

sudo apt autoremove

what it removed the following package:   armbian-bsp-cli-rk322x-box

 

thinking that it could be relevant for my SoC device i tried to install it again:

sudo apt install armbian-bsp-cli-rk322x-box >

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 armbian-bsp-cli-rk322x-box-current : Depends: base-files (>= 25.2.3) but 11ubuntu5.8 is going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

 

have i broken my system? how could i resolve it ?

I think this is your underlying issue.  Focal was dropped from support a year ago (by both Ubuntu and Armbian).  So the underlying packages you need are likely no longer in repositories.
