Allwinner H616: Flash eMMC via USB

Hi all,

 

  is it possible to flash the a board's eMMC via USB from another PC?

 

I already checked this but could not figure out exactly how.

armbian-install is meant to be used inside the running Armbian system from microSD card. It copies itself to NVMe or eMMC or whatever options are available and can be utilized. This tool does not work "offline".

 

Anyway. I never did something like that by myself but maybe you find some hints when you google for keywords like "h616 fel sunxi-fel emmc".

fel mode seems something like Rockchips maskrom to utilized the rkdevtool. Maybe Allwinner has something similar

If there is already firmware with U-Boot as a payload on the device, the UMS functionality is a possibility. In the meantime, all my firmware builds have easy access to this functionality, as long as the support requirements are met. I don't know the support status of the Allwinner H616 SoC, hence YMMV.

if the emmc module is removable search for ubs emmc tool. then write emmc from desktop and reinstall on pcb.
