Tuesday at 02:50 PM3 days one of the things the user cannot do from the xfce settings menu is disable the no-activity shut downs, I assume because the user has no permissions to mess with the defaults. So while I have the user set to 0 time in the power management screens, it continues to do a shutdow of the HDMI output in about 20 minutes. Since this only draws 15.5 watts, and the shutdown causes the 42" vizio tv to go back to the tv mode.So where and what,, I assume in the /etc directory, should I edit as root to stop this???Thanks, Gene
Wednesday at 04:40 AM3 days Which image you are using in particular, so I can once check what is going on. Normally disabling power management should help. Does it only power the screen off or board goes into standby?
Wednesday at 03:51 PM2 days Author ANAICT it only shuts down the HDMI output, by first an auto-logout, leaving that screen up for maybe 15 minutes, then shuts down the HDMI leaving it headless, but if I leave t-bird running when I go to sleep, it continues to suck in emails from the lists I'm subbed to. I wake up, wiggle the mouse to wake up the HDMI, and re-select that input on the tv with its remote, log back in and things are back to normal with 5 to 15 new emails. I replied to this once, but cannot find it the next morning. Diff thread maybe? One thing that would help forum use since you don't have a mailing list, is a button to find ones own posts quickly. They are being shown to me in the right hand panel in firefox now but its taken may clicks to achieve from a cold login. You are in what could be troubled real estate, please stay safe & well.
