I can add PR to the official Armbian build system for RISC-V (then the kernel will have an automatic update), but I'm not sure it will be accepted.

See the first message of the topic, I changed it and there is a link to the shared directory with all the images.

    New version 20221210.
I checked the installation of the new version of u-boot on SPI. Everything works correctly. The new version works correctly with the system startup order.
If you install the system on NVMe and connect the SD card with another system, the SD card will start. For example, you can install an Ubuntu system on NVMe and run Debian from an SD card. Also, the new u-boot supports the system startup mode with EFI\grub.

To automatically update the kernel, you need to have a network repository, I don't have such an opportunity yet. I've heard that someone is working on creating such a repository for this build system. If it is, then the kernel will be updated automatically. In principle, I can add kernel packages to the image directory for manual updates (in case there is a significant kernel change).

You inattentively read the info earlier.
I specifically wrote that Debian (sid) requires ADDITIONAL manual work to run (copying additional files, editing the configuration file, etc.). Use Ubuntu versions, there is nothing you need to change after writing the image, it connects and will work.

Describe in detail what the problem is, what steps did you take? My system runs fine and runs on mangoPIMqpro.

All images from this theme are collected on a PC in cross-compilation mode. I also checked the full image build on StarFive1 (i.e. directly on the RISC-V device), it works the same, but so far I don't have a fast enough RISC-V device to switch to a fully native build. I know that there are some Discord-Risc-v participants who build on ARM devices (including in cluster mode on multiple devices at the same time). You can clarify all the details in the corresponding Disord topic.

    Version 20221201 for Allwinner D1.
The 6.1.0-rc3  kernel is used. It is important that it is possible to use DTB separately in the kernel regardless of u-boot.
Can manually configure which DTB to use, this is useful for using different hardware on different devices.
There is no Debian version yet, because the system has been switched to EFI, while there is no full EFI support in Debian.

I have already checked on MangoQ Pro, it works.

by the way, when testing on different D1 devices, I noticed that USB is always detected and works.

Interestingly, this is the first time I've seen this model. The presence of SATA and the ability to easily connect standard SSD drives is interesting. The lack of an SD card is a big minus, it will significantly complicate the use of this device, but this can be circumvented if the u-boot source code for this model is available to me. But I don't have this model, so I can't help you with anything.

you have fallen behind the reality again
Armbian for Firefly Station M3 (rk3588s-roc-pc) has been around for a long time and is well supported.
AltLinux for M3 is also available. Also, I am currently testing\debugging Libreelec for Station M3. So the support for Station M3 is much better than Rock 5b

If you turn off HDMI, the system resets the settings that were agreed upon when you turned it on. you can try specifying fixed settings in the startup command line or try switching via xrandr (search the Internet for how this is done).

This advice applies to working with u-boot and it needs to be done in u-boot (via the UART console).

    LE OPiRK3399 version =! LE OPi-800
but there is no LAN yet and you need to manually add firmware and module settings to enable WiFi (USB WiFi should work), I hope to release LE next week with the correction of these bugs.

This was Linux 5.18.5-media and there was no wifi at all here. It was Sid I tried.
The problem is that sometimes HDMI audio isn't there to choose from. Doesn't happen that often. But sometimes it's not there and I have to reboot to have hdmi-audio back. It might be because I'm using a Elgato 4K60 HDMI capture box. I do have issue's with that thing not always working.

Thank you, I'll test a more recent Ubuntu with 5.18. The Sid I tested was the oldest I could find. So there might be the problem. I tried Sid because I had seen great improvements in supertuxkart on BPiM5 with Bullseye. Didn't see that on Sid here.
I will test it again, and also test on my old pentium to see if it's normal there. I didn't try having only VGA running.

I will wait for those before making the video. Now my 5.19.16 Jammy xfce4 image is almost perfect. Everything is running that I want to run. Only the HDMI audio that isn't always there. But that's a minor issue.
I'll also try to build a Buster image from your build script to see if I can use the Media Framework on it. I do miss the perfect video playback on it.
Thank you for the input. Helps a lot. I'll wait at least a day before making the video. Normally I was gonna make it today. Cheers.

Check the version with kernel 5.18.

If you configure which device to use by default (for example, through the Volume Control plug-in), I have not seen any problems with switching audio and output to HDMI on all cores.

Have you checked all the images since 5.18 ? There is a difference in them. And it's better to use Ubuntu for tests.

I didn't see any problems with the VGA color. Have you tried running with VGA only ?

The new 6.0.6 images (with Wi-Fi) are still in the build process and will be available on the site only tomorrow.

Unpacked. Recorded on the USB flash drive. Copied to the root FAT partition file "meson8m2_MIIIPlus.dtb" and renamed it "the dtb.img". Hooked up to my existing model Tronsmatr MIII Plus (fee ver 2.2 Android 5.1). Multiuboot has been previously activated (using SD card). The first switch is automatically triggered. Automatically expanded to the second section. The system rebooted. The second start - login as user "root" (complied standard setting Armbian). An automatic reset. Start the graphical table (720). Sound and network yet (that I know). The rest is working. Is turned on and off correctly. Now I can say that the image on the website working. Possible reasons for the lack of running from other owners S812.
    1. Old firmware (it may not have the necessary settings to activate the multi-boot u-boot).
    2. Not the right dtb file 3. Not a quality carrier
    3. Violation of order of activation

In the near future I plan to publish the Linux images for s812 (they are being tested). TV set-top box on the basis of the s812 chip is very close with s802 (they all use the same kernel). So I hope that the images s812 will also work on s802.

Hi. The kernel itself works well with all functions on RK3399 (has patches from LE). For the 1920x1080 video mode, 3399 features are quite enough for full-screen video in Armbian. For full-screen 4k video playback on Armbian there is not enough ffmpeg\HW decoder, but for such modes (4k video), I prefer to use a specialized distribution - LibreELEC, which works great for these purposes.

If  build the latest versions of ffmpeg\mpv\kodi using patches from LE, all HW 4k functions will work in Armbian. I remember that @JMCC was building a test version of these components using the 5.10 kernel and everything worked fine.

VGA does not work on it yet. All functions work on the first version of images with the 5.18.5 kernel (in fact, this is the "legacy" kernel from OPI)
