  1. Hey sorry I had the apt running on a test instance. Been trying to solve the big that changes the request protocol after a while.
  2. I'm using Armbian Debian, if you are using Armbian are you able to use the max clock speeds of the 2 big cores? Yep. And our 2ghz overlay. So to be clear I'm talking about other rk3399 devices. I don't have a helios64. Just surprised to see the conversation given how well rk3399 works these days
  3. Are you using debian or an armbian debian image? Personally I'm a fan of schedutil governor and run it on all my rk3399 devices
  4. Armbian uses the mainline kernel and open drivers.... Amlogic has some issues with accelerated desktop... especially with GPU... search the forum and you should find some workarounds for other amlogic boards such as Odroidn2 and Khadas Vim3 If its available you can try the "legacy" kernel via armbian config.... or you might just have to use odroid's image... hope this is helpful.
  5. The answer for this is most likely you're going to be better of manually managing the packages and config of your desktop than armbian config
  6. Sounds like it's running out of ram. Is it a 256meg zero? Even 512 is a stretch
  7. Anyone can use the Armbian Build Tools to produce their own kernel debs or images. The code will remain.
  8. yeah if using acceleration would be like
  9. Some hints here in my utm file. https://forum.armbian.com/topic/18231-armbian-the-virtual-machine/?do=findComment&comment=127090
  10. I'll try to dig up my utm config you're not using hw accel if you see a72 cores
  11. Sweet! Runs great tho right? My kernel's newer
  12. yeah was mostly thinking about using ansible for installers etc, but it could do specific armbian-config core tasks... BUT we'd need a wrapper around it in bash for UI. but i'd view it as something we'd use in a modular fashion rather than build a framework on it
  13. If someone wants to do the work we'll gladly review a pull request for it. Just not something that the Armbian devs are going to work on themselves.
  14. never got a PR https://www.armbian.com/newsflash/armbian-needs-your-help/
  15. You can still build images with the armbian build tools, but yeah we need the community to step up and maintain the ebin unfortuantely.
  16. see if this is helpful https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/f90bd10622b9e526be9fc4e6fe5cdcf56b529e52/packages/bsp/common/usr/lib/armbian/armbian-common#L35
  17. RK3399 - based SBCs are the only thing I would recommend as a desktop. H6 can do accelerated video but it won't be out of the box. You'll have to assure a video player is built with cedrus libraries etc. Others can hopefully provide clearer answers than me.
  18. That reminds me that armbianmonitors light ping test frequently fails and causes it not to upload to ix.io
  19. we probably need to remove the desktop-install feature from Armbian-config.. we have new code for our more complex desktops and its not in armbian config.
  20. This is great thanks for sharing. Will have to try this
  21. We really need someone to manage the outreach and bug tracking for RC testing... we've done some attempt of that in the past, but it's been hard to get the attention needed.... and even harder to manage the issues. and also need another attempt at recruiting Maintainers/owners for specific devices that can perform tests and track issues... (and develop if they want )
  22. We have always published nighties. Goto the download page find the device then choose other downloads and scroll down to test builds.
