Awesome. This performs better than my M4V2. M4V2 does 750MB/s max. This does 850MB/s.
@balbes150There seems to be an issue with Hirsute mainline. Some apps don't work right. Like gparted. It doesn't open when you click it in the applications menu.
You can start it with 'sudo gparted'.
For gnome-disks it doesn't as for a password to do a task, so it fails it. When you load it with 'sudo gnome-disks' it does work as expected.
Also when doing reboot it goes into AndroidTV instead of rebooting to hirsute.
    NVMe does work.
    I'll try sid now.

It's looking better now. I removed the wire for the antenna from the frame, plugged it back in. And attached the frame.

They should have designed the case a bit higher so the hat would fit. But I like it like this. I'll try hirsute now. Been a while since I tried it.

If @JMCC adds a script for the main kernel, then any version can be used.
Personally, I like the latest Hirsute. I am testing the latest versions (Hirsute and Sid) and see a significant improvement regarding Focal and Bullsey. As far as I know (when building LE with the main core), the main core now has all the components for HW.
I am quite satisfied with the main core, even without HW, it is enough for full-screen video in 1080p mode (this is the main mode I use, 4k is too small for the desktop).

I regularly update all the latest images on the site

I don't have N2+. I try not to release versions for hardware that I don't have (this creates a lot of problems for me, users ask questions and describe problems, but I can't test and fix them, so I avoid creating such variants).

It works  I upped it a bit more and used the Focal mainline image. 465.76GiB of Samsung EVO 970 goodness.
    That's nice.  Happy.

Now what image should I use for the video? I wanted to use the media script for buster on it to have a great desktop image.
I could also make a gaming image on it, but I'm not sure many people are interested in that. Could you please share your link again with Armbian TV images?
Also for N2+ if you've got one. I'd like to use it as headless armbian build server. Thanks.

The old LEGACY kernel does not see NVMe. Need to understand the configuration and DTS. But there's no time for that yet.

I checked it again now. NVMe works with all ArmbianTV and Armbian images with the main core. I didn't check the legacy kernel. Here is a screenshot. Please note, the hat is very sensitive to the contact fit, if you put it on too tightly, NVMe does not work. You need to slightly raise the hat over the main board, so that there is no contact with other elements.

I received the NVMe hat last week. I tried it and it doesn't seem to be working.
The case also isn't made for it. You need to remove the case except for the bottom plate to be able to plug the hat in.
The wifi antenna is also glued with hot glue to the board. I needed to remove that to have the space for the hat.

The spacers also were too high to be able to plug the hat.

So I replaced them with lower spacer.

Then I was able to plug in the hat. But using my 512GB Samsung EVO 970 I couldn't make it recognize it in either Buster Legacy and Focal Mainline. Neither in Android.
I also tried other NVMe's, and none did work.

A bit a pity they didn't hold the NVMe hat into account when designing the case.

That's a good idea. I'll see what tool is best used in Android to burn the image. I've never used android for it, but since people with P1/M1 certainly have Android it is a great idea.
I've got a video planned where I show a full installation of Armbian Buster Legacy. I can start it in Android. I'll make the video when my NVMe hat arrives. Thanks for the idea. I wouldn't have thought about it.

p.s. I've got a Mecool KM6 with S905X4 to review Android 10 on it. I don't suppose there will be Armbian for this? Just asking so I don't say anything wrong.
I like the box, but I can't get used to Android. For watching video it's ok, but for productivity tasks it is bad.

I checked the Renegade Elite hat on Station P1.
Connected (with some additional steps), everything worked. NVMe is visible and can be used for system placement or other needs. But there is a nuance with the physical placement of the hat. I had to remove the WiFi antenna connector and add an insulator to the plane of the power connector, it touches the hat at the location of the POE elements. Also, because of this, it will not be possible to insert the hat contacts completely, to the full depth. And you need to replace the racks with lower ones, the regular ones are too high.

For TV boxes, there is no official Armbian, so there is no point in wasting time on this, on each TV box, the process will be different and users will be tormented by questions about why they do not find the elements that you will tell about.

@NicoD Can you shoot a video on how to download and burn an Armbian image to an SD card using only a regular Android on P1 ? I. e. I am interested in a video how to run Armbian with only P1. This instruction allows any user, without any additional devices (PC, laptop, etc.) to get a working Armbian on any supported device.

I would have loved to have the PBP. But it's a bit too expensive.
I've got my self made SBC "laptops". Either my first with a 7" 1024x600 display and Odroid C2 or RPi2b to save energy. All together -1A 5V.
And my 13.3" 1080p display either with M4V2 or Khadas VIM3. The display alone is 1.2A. I then clock my RK3399 to all cores 1Ghz for watching movies or internet. Uses less than 1A then. Still powerful enough.
Also got speakers in my display. So having this already I didn't see the sense in buying the PBP. Too bad they don't want to work with me. I'd love to have reviewed the PBP, the PinePhone, PineCube...
I was the first to have a video about all those products since I filmed their stand at FOSDEM in 2019.
I now ordered a 60 000mAh power bank. I'll be able to use it for a week without charging. And it can charge with quickcharge. So in a rather short time I'll be able to charge it enough to last a long time. I can't wait for the lockdowns to be done so I can travel again. It's awesome to be able to use my desktop PC in my tent on solar power.
Here a picture of my first box almost 5 years ago now. Doesn't look as good as PBP. But functions as I need it.

I've got the NVMe hat on the way. I asked the people of Firefly. I only needed to pay for the hat, so I'm happy. The extra $30 for shipping was a bit too much for me. It's more than the device is worth.
I don't know if I mentioned it already. I replaced the thick thermal pad with copper shims. It doesn't overheat anymore. I'll show it in my review video. I needed 2 copper shims on top of each other to reach the height of the thermal pad. With copper shims of double the height would probably perform a bit better.

Now the case does get very hot when used maxed out.
The CPU used to go over 85C and start throttling. Now maximum temperature is 79C and no throttling. Tho this is with 1.5Ghz/2Ghz overclock. With default clocks it didn't overheat.

They explained after a few days that it had some outgoing customs issues and asked me to place the order again.
Yesterday I opened a dispute which was resolved by Aliexpress within an hour in my favour and today I got the money back.
Seeing how well it went with the dispute I ordered it again - it was 0.25EUR more expensive now. Let's see how it fares this time ;-)

If it was a cheaper board I'd do that. This is one of the most expensive I've bought. PSU is also a 15V 60W brick. Adds to the cost.
I rather save my money to buy an Odroid Go Super next month. I never wanted a handheld so much, except when the Gameboy came out maybe.
HC4 also suddenly became a gaming rig with 500GB of retro games on HDD. Too many games, I can't find the ones I want since thousands to browse thru.

    Hello,

I was looking for Kali on BPi and tried the "Kali Linux BananaPi offensive-securityDOTcom-2020.04"-image without success.
Unfortunately the image does not boot and no support from there (Domain-contact nor forum[...][...]).

Some message about "mount: mounting /dev/mmcblk0p1 on /root failed: No such device", even if kernel was started from this 'No such device"'-SD-card.

So Igor wrote me about katoolin which I tested on BPi with Armbian 20.11.3 Busterarmbian.

For anyone who is interested here is my way:

    install "Armbian 20.11.3 Buster \l"
    install "katoolin see https://github.com/LionSec/katoolin"
    sudo python2.7 katoolin/katoolin.py
-> Add Kali repositories & Update by the menu
    katoolin.py adds "deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main contrib non-free" to /etc/apt-sources

apt-get install armitage  to get msfconsole,

first test with vsftpd_234_backdoor-exploit on testdevice was successfull, meterpreter not tested yet.

apt-get install burpsuite did not work, I had to add "deb http://old.kali.org/kali sana main non-free contrib" manually.

after this burpsuite could be started.

For all who will look for this one day :-D

I also got my Odroid HC4. Doing my first tests. USB seems very buggy with the Ubuntu Mate 20.04 from Odroid.
This seems better with Armbian focal legacy desktop. Tho there no sata is found, while that does work with the Odroid HC4 Mate image.
I'll try a lot more images to see if/what difference there is.
    Haven't checked any mainline yet.

It does seem to have performance issue's when overclocked(2Ghz/2.1Ghz). It sometimes performs worse than with default clocks. Weird.
I'm a bit surprised about how good it is for gaming.
I like it a lot, but it did cost me a lot. Tho also bit my own fault.
I first bought it from AmeriDroid. It was stuck in transit for a +month. So I got my money back and bought another at a Belgian seller. A lot more expensive. A day after I got my HC4 from the Belgian seller the one from AmeriDroid arrived. If only I had waited a few more days I'd have saved about 40euro. Buying from Hardkernel would have been even more cheap I'd guess.
I may send it back to AmeriDroid without fees. Luckily. I really wanted a HC4, but 2 is too much
