Shinra Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 Hello, A newbie here can anyone give me an instruction on how to set Analog Video as Output display in Orangepipc, I am using Armbian Buster with mainline based kernel 5.9.y.
Werner Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 Providing logs with armbianmonitor -u helps with troubleshooting and significantly raises chances that issue gets addressed.
jernej Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 TV out is not supported on mainline kernel at the moment.

jernej Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 mainline U-Boot also don't have TV out support for H3, unless out-of-tree patch is included in Armbian (I'm not sure)... Anyway, this would bring only simplefb support which has no features - no planes, only one bit depth, one color format, no double buffering, etc.
P.P.A. Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 I asked about this in the #linux-sunxi channel some time last year. I believe it was @Icenowy who was actually sitting on a mainline patch to enable TV out, but there was presently no way to detect whether there is a cable inserted in the AV socket, or whether it's hooked up to a TV, and there is too little demand for the feature for anyone to bother.
jernej Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 There is a way to detect if cable is inserted or not, I implemented this for U-Boot, but driver never landed there - I never found enough motivation to update it according maintainers requests.
