No HDMI display on Debian / Cubox

multicast

Question

With build from 26th of August, kernel 3.14.14 (cli, debian jessie) I cannot see any hdmi output.

When cubox i4pro boots, it shows uboot env and I can interrupt boot, hdmi works well. starting kernel puts monitor into powersave mode. everything else seems to work, I can ssh to the cubox and see the logs, which look normally, e.g.

I have tried bpp 16 or 24 when default 32 didn't work

Do you have any suggestions where to look or what to try? at first I'm going to check wheezy or ubuntu images, and probably also compile myself to see what happens.

I did, although with 1024x768-60, the same result. Wheezy desktop the same. I will go through /sys/class/graphics/fb0/modes and try to set each.

now I burn again solid-run image which worked well, but I want the fb.modes copy. can you suggest other images from your archive, probably  with older kernel?

I have checked both from http://download.solid-run.com/pub/solidrun/cubox-i/Debian/Jessi-repackaged-trial/and both work well.

my fb mode is:

mode "1920x1080-60"
    # D: 148.500 MHz, H: 67.500 kHz, V: 60.000 Hz
    geometry 1920 1080 1920 1080 32
    timings 6734 148 88 36 4 44 5
    hsync high
    vsync high
    rgba 8/16,8/8,8/0,8/24
endmode

I went through all modes in class/graphics/fb0/modes, and all of them work on standard solid-run image:

U:1920x1080p-60

S:1920x1080p-50
S:1280x720p-50

3.18.x That build is experimental.

Try rather one or two versions back because there were some changes and I also read about problems on solid-run forum.

can you suggest link to older build? seems I cannot locate a build cubox with older kernel...

3.18.x That build is experimental.

nevertheless I tried it, but no luck. I try to rebuild from scratch next or the other week and will report back.

have you checked this build? can anyone confirm this build actually works with hdmi (any resolution...)?

I usually test builds on Hummingboard i2x, Cubox rarely.

Changes to kernel and u-boot were made without version change. Just some minor fixes due to 4G ram version of Cubox. This should not bring problems but you never know ;)

I am out office for few days so can't conduct tests.
