newtolinux Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Hi I installed following image on Banana pi M5 on emmc. BananaPi does boot up but it shows "PI" username for which I am not able to find password anywhere and also tried ssh into the machine which was also denied. Every time I installed the image same thing would happen with same username "PI" popping up every time. Would appreciate help if someone can share the password or what I am going wrong. NicoD Posted September 26 Posted September 26 Where did you get this image? To my knowledge there's no pi username on Armbian images. The first time you boot you should be asked to create a username + password. If that doesn't happen you need to login with 'root' pw '1234' I do know a lot of images from makers that have username 'pi' and pw 'pi'. And why the file attached? Looks fishy... 0 Quote
Werner Posted September 27 Posted September 27 If there is a "pi" user present the image is fake. 0 Quote
newtolinux Posted October 1 Author Posted October 1 (edited) Thanks guys for replying back. I downloaded the image from following page and used Belana to save it on SD card. Attached image in the first post is what bootup screen looked like. https://www.armbian.com/bananapi-m5/ Edited October 1 by newtolinux 0 Quote

Tamas Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I think the Banana Pi M5 wiki has linux image with pi user and the password is bananapi. 0 Quote
