gatinho Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Hi, I want to patch the kernel with the preempt-rt patches from the repository but their are corrupt Who needs this patch? I think the real time kernel is very useful for many projects.

I think the real time kernel is very useful for many projects. From a current perspective, all I can do is to remove this partially working / invalid patch ... to suppress questions I am tired to write excuses - we are just a few, so don't expect this to be solved anytime soon / up on your needs Our lists are full of such "just this" cases and basic functionality is our core interest in the first place. Perhaps somebody already fixed those patches and they "only" need to find a way to our sources? 1
zador.blood.stained Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 What kernel are we talking about (since this is posted in the "mainline" section)? For the legacy - pull requests with fixes are welcome, at this point it's unlikely that the legacy kernel will receive any significant changes/patches. For the mainline - you have to find RT patches that match the available mainline kernel version (currently it's 4.11.5). 1
Christos Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 On H3 legacy the patch works just fine with all boards tested (OPi).

Christos Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 @gatinho Not every hardware in the world is capable of max. RT level. That is why there is a user-defined level setting there.
