I dont know if it helps, but normally installed is the package "armbian-firmware" There seem to be a "bigger" package called "armbian-firmware-full" and a special package for realtek called "firmware-realtek" armbian-firmware - Linux firmware armbian-firmware-full - Linux firmware-full firmware-realtek - Binary firmware for Realtek wired/wifi/BT adapters You could try to install firmware-realtek or armbian-firmware-full for getting the firmware of your rt73
Igor Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 armbianmonitor -u for a start would really help in this case. USB ID will tell what driver to use.

Igor Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Login as root and run: apt install armbian-firmware-full or manually it that won't work - check this: http://mitchtech.net/realtek-wireless-dongle-rt3070-on-the-raspberry-pi/ Remember to reboot or reload the module. 1

I guess i need firmware rt73.bin. And i have it. but doesn't work. I tried manually add module: modprobe rt73usb, then rtx00usb, rtx00lib and was loaded without errors. I download rt73 and tried install it, before, tried install linux-firmware all-043.deb, firmware-ralink all.deb. I think problem with modul rt2x00. Dmesg show : rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Error - failed to request Firmware. full usb 2-1.4: Product: 802.11 bg WLAN usb 2-1.4: Manufacturer: Ralink usb 2-1.4: reset high-speed USB device number 8 using sw-ehci ieee80211 phy2: Selected rate control algorithm 'minstrel_ht' Registered led device: rt73usb-phy2::radio Registered led device: rt73usb-phy2::assoc Registered led device: rt73usb-phy2::quality phy2 -> rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Error - Failed to request Firmware

I tried install armbian-firmware-full. Nothing happens, wifiusb firmware missing. But i can see firmware rt73.bin in /lib/firmware/
