guidol Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 My NanoPi K1 Plus is using at the moment ARMBIAN 5.47 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.51-sunxi64 ( https://dl.armbian.com/nanopik1plus/archive/Armbian_5.47_Nanopik1plus_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.51.7z ) In the archive at https://dl.armbian.com/nanopik1plus/archive/ is also https://dl.armbian.com/nanopik1plus/archive/Armbian_5.53_Nanopik1plus_Debian_stretch_next_4.17.9.7z Is 4.17.9 also stable? And if YES is there a simple way to update without reinstalling? I did try apt update apt upgrade and apt dist-upgrade but no 4.17.9 avail. Nightly is at https://dl.armbian.com/nanopik1plus/nightly/Armbian_5.46.180622_Nanopik1plus_Debian_stretch_dev_4.17.2.7z (but I didnt want to switch ti nightly via armbian-config)
Igor Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 A stable repository will be upgraded when all supported boards are checked for basic functionality. Switching to beta, update and freeze upgrading perhaps? Is it stable? I have no idea.
Igor Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Yesterday I adjusted patches that we can build 4.18.y but it crashed exactly on this board on H3 DVFS is missing, Banana/CT Wireless is broken, ... from those impressions I expect quite some work to something stable level. This makes me think: - put 4.14.y back to NEXT, change u-boot to 2018.05 and leave as is even it's not the best option, but people could build it when they needed. 4.18.y is IMO still too far away. - switch 4.18.y to DEV and slowly work on it.
cmcgaha Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 The last K1 image I built on Aug 15 was: Armbian_5.59_Nanopik1plus_Debian_stretch_next_4.17.14_desktop.img So far everything I am using is working fine. Let me know if there is something I can test that will help you.
