Armbian Ubuntu Server NanopiFire 3 No LCD Display

Hi, 

 

Compiled image for Nanopi3 , Ubuntu Xenial Server, 

After booting, LCD backlight switches on, but no display.

 

Need help to fix this.

No Customization or kernel config change done, used defaults.

Linux nanopifire3 4.14.96-s5p6818 #2 SMP Tue Jan 29 12:56:43 UTC 2019 aarch64 aarch64 aarch64 GNU/Linux
 

from dmesg:

OOB is almost sure not supported, only HDMI. Peek into DTB if kernel bits are there and enable.  Check/compare how this is enabled in stock images ...

first you have to check which display-model do you use and how its connected to the Fire3:

FriendlyCore & Lubuntu Desktop

Here are the LCDs that are supported under FriendlyCore and Lubuntu Desktop:
S430, S700/S701, S702, HD700, HD702, HD101 and X710 all of which are LCDs with capacitive touch;
W35B, H43, P43, S70D and Matrix 2.8" SPI Key TFT LCD all of which are LCDs with resistive touch

Any news on support for LVDS LCD screens? I am using s430. It is awesome screen, sun readable, capacitive touch. During boot I can see logo flash  in a corner. Looks like screen resolution is passed wrong or not detected properly.
