  1. if it is fixed, fine the issue: - 1st boot : 2 core online - 2nd boot : 1 core online, 1 core offline DTB base issue, memory corrupted (frequency?) ??? anyway ### lscpu: Architecture: armv7l Byte Order: Little Endian CPU(s): 2 On-line CPU(s) list: 0 Off-line CPU(s) list: 1 Thread(s) per core: 1 Core(s) per socket: 1 Socket(s): 1 Model name: ARMv7 Processor rev 4 (v7l) CPU max MHz: 960.0000 CPU min MHz: 144.0000
  2. please can you give the exact output of - cat /proc/cpuinfo update the packages sudo armbianmonitor -u
  3. @jobenvil ok, good to know, another more complete recipee from SamsungOSG https://blogs.s-osg.org/install-ubuntu-run-mainline-kernel-odroid-xu4/ I will backup my eMMC and give it a try
  4. @Haxy Currently the Armbian patched kernel 3.10.x I have compiled the kernel 4.6 as per http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/632-device-specific-odroid-xu4/?p=9822 I run the system from eMMC instead of SD card (I would need to remove the eMMC module to make sure I boot from SD card) so I haven't tested 4.6 yet edit: another recipe https://blogs.s-osg.org/install-ubuntu-run-mainline-kernel-odroid-xu4/
  5. @Haxy, 1/ Sure XU4 is a little bit expensive with 4 little cores @1.4GHz and 4 big cores @2GHz. But it is heating... so it has a fan (quite noisy) OR you can replace with a bigger heatsink 2/ legacy Armbian is running fine. Samsung opensource team has put a lot of support in kernel 4.6 3/ it is quite powerful... my only board which can run Thunderbird mail client. Igor runs www.armbian.com and forum.armbian.com on a XU4 4/ maybe someone has a better idea but other boards matching your needs will be more expensive.
  6. @Haxy you can look at the boards supported http://www.armbian.com/download/ I would suggest Odroid XU4 as I own one. Odroid make a NAS case for 2.5" drives
  7. please can you give more details? Are you following the instructions http://www.armbian.com/using-armbian-tools/ ?
  8. part 1/ updated armhwinfo, added the IRQ redirection in /etc/rc.local and rebooted part 2/ Let's see what I can do with "dmesg" I guess line 666 of armbianmonitor is not cursed I had an old version of the script and I guess Igor too up-to-date "armbianmonitor -u" is working
  9. @Igor my XU4 has very little load https://share.orange.fr/#w5YWIEQilS176d30317a
  10. @Tk, the issue with "armbianmonitor -u" when dmesg is too large you only get dmesg in the log so I have rebooted & it is better http://sprunge.us/jTFh note: need to add activity gr@odroidxu4:~$ sudo ./tkActivityTest gr@odroidxu4:~$ sudo armbianmonitor -u /var/log/armhwinfo.log has been uploaded to http://sprunge.us/hNgL http://sprunge.us/hNgL note: I have badly named your script : tkActivityTest => tkChangeIRQCPUaffinity I have done HDD reading (cloudshell NAS uses USB3=>SATA), reading from /dev/TrueRNG (on USB3 port #2), find / for MMC (no USB2, no Mali) to compare before reboot -- so my tkChangeIRQCPUaffinity script
  11. XU4 sudo armbianmonitor -u is not very useful http://sprunge.us/WYTL (note: I am managing XU4 fan PWM myself so it outputs a lots of logs)
  12. My guess the wiki needs to be more clear. Maybe a section : "How to power the board?" http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPi_M1#Layout in the note, you need to find: "VDD_5V: 5V power input/output. When the external device’s power is greater than the MicroUSB’s the external device is charging the board otherwise the board powers the external device. The input range is 4.7V ~ 5.6V" because it is not obvious, with the Odroid-XU4, you cannot power the board with the UART plug as it is 1.8V VCC
  13. http://bit.ly/1TX2IzP http://bit.ly/1WFSYzM Interesting as I am waiting for a NanoPi M1
  14. FYI I haven't found interesting changes related to USB, I will be looking at DTB ok I see the file http://lxr.free-electrons.com/source/arch/arm/boot/dts/sun7i-a20-lamobo-r1.dts
  15. it seems (reading kernel 4.6 news released today in French) they added USB 3.1 support. maybe something has changed in the DTB or kernel config... let's see later.
  16. please can you give example of links using private message
  17. So, I have retried kernel 4.6.1 - with SS PRNG patch - with 1008 MHz patch I have removed all kernel sources, removed the kernel 4.6.1-rt3 (realtime) patch and yet I have the same errors with USB so reloading again my deb packages with good working kernel 4.5.5
  18. also my patch from 4.3.3 doesnt work any longer it can explain the mess... I have left the CPU 1008 MHz tweak in the patch
  19. wait, yes, both 4.6.1 kernel have -rt3 I have applied 4.6.1-RT3 patch, then tested again without 4.6.1-RT3 patch but it seems the patch isn't removed from source => I will remove v4.6.1 folder and upload the kernel again
  20. Hello, for a piece of advice, I have compiled kernel 4.6.1 for Lamobo-R1, USB is KO, I am switching back to 4.5.5 in the meantime.
  21. I won't claim anything Documentation has to be written, so I have opened a thread to select a tool to help documentation writing. http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/1337-documentation-software-proposal-for-armbian-wiki/ Feel free.
  22. I would propose MoinMoin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MoinMoin More or less, the Armbian forum message layout uses the same concepts I have been using this along CAcert.org former project https://wiki.cacert.org/ yes we (CAcert former crew) had trouble with XSS attacks. better not to use plugins. https://moinmo.in/SecurityFixes
  23. I am opening a thread to pick a wiki software for Armbian documentation (or any software to help documentation building) feel free to propose a solution. Thanks.
  24. @xwalter download piclone_0.1_armhf.deb from my orange share sudo dpkg -i piclone_0.1_armhf.deb it is a live copy tool, so plug an empty USB key / USB microSD card reader on your board The recipient has to be at least the size of your Armbian card. note: let's hope you have all the needed packages installed. let's see.
  25. @technick007_cz for the keyring, if you have the id of the key google "apt-key adv" for an example
