Seeing how well the voltage hacks works on your boards I will include them in armbian (even though I still get crashes on my own board with only this 75mV hack, even though way less).
But not upstream (I am close to sending the eMMC fix upstream, I only need to read the backlog there anew to avoid too much back and forth so the patch is up to the standard). at least until I sort out why they work (I was told to try them by a board designer that told me there was a design issue with the voltage regulator which I am not up to sort out. But I checked other rk3399 armbian boards'schematics and as far as I understand they have the same design. So either all of these boards are broken and are somewhat stable for an unknown reason (maybe less stress on the big CPUs) or I misunderstood what was wrong with helios64 hardware. I need to talk to an hardware engineer.
Also I try to sort out a few other issues with other softwares and hardwares. And a few other issues. But I expect to have those in for mid October, maybe earlier.

Started work on syncing the helios64 dts to upstream for 6.9: https://github.com/prahal/build/tree/helios64-6.9 .
I removed the overclock disabling patch as the overclock as it disables an overclock that is at least nowadays not in the included rk3399-opp.dtsi (ie cluster0 has no opp6 and cluster no opp8). It was not a high priority beforehand but as the helios64 dts starts to change, thus carries unnecessary work.
The pachtset applies. The helios64 dts compile fine to dtb.
Kernel built and booted. (see below for network connection, ie ethernet MAC fixup)
There are not many functional changes on my side (there are in upstream dts). There are a few differences with upstream dts I did not bring as I don't know if they are leftover from the initial patch set or new fixups. But this could already have been an issue before 3.9 for most of these changes (there is at least a new upstream change 93b36e1d3748c352a70c69aa378715e6572e51d1 "arm64: dts: rockchip: Fix USB interface compatible string on kobol-helios64") I brought forward.
I also brought in vcc3v0_sd node "enable-active-high;" and "gpio = <&gpio0 RK_PA1 GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH>;".
Beware.

My change was about restoring the eth0/end0 MAC address to its intended value (ie grabbed from OTP via SPI as it was designed to work until it was broken at one point).
It does not change the interface names. I warned about it as if one had a static DHCP lease on the MAC that was set for a few years other than the OTP one the lease would not apply.
The change is included for 6.9 and up, the issue reported above is for 6.8 (though it is likely a user space issue as interface renaming is udev userspace).
So I guess @crosser upgraded from a kernel with the initial behavior I restored to an intermediate one which did not grab the MAC from the OTP.
Note also that I did not apply these changes to the 6.6 kernel (-current), only to -edge.
The MAC address and the interface rename issue are unrelated.

@ebin-devI discussed with on IRC #u-boot and I believe one board designer told me that there could be issue with the regulatorh hardware design (CPU big). He suggested me to up the voltage to max after looking at the schematics (that are available in the wiki in the left pane documents section) to try if it fixed my crashes and this indeed fixed lost of them. That is I first tried every opp-table-1 ie cpu-b at 1.2V then I tried with voltage closer to the vanilla rk3399 ones. In the end I was able to run the cpufreq switching test I gave you 100 times without a crash with upping all the opp voltages for cpu-b by 75mV. Any of the opp run mostly stable with only 50mV but in I still had crashes. So up 75mV looks fine.
I still have crash around once a day but not with my cpufreq test case as far as I know. I am now on on demand cpufreq governor with freq from 408MHz to 1.8GHz.
Still I would really like to be able to be able to reproduce the crashes I still get. They might be from gpu opp voltages as they have the same hardware design as the CPU-big. Or something else. But I doubt the kernel is involved except that any kernel version might stress the board less.
But for one I had added a big delay between CPU-b frequent switching and still had crashes, so I doubt the speed has anything to do with it.
And in my test I tried with all cpu-b OPP voltages to 1.2V except even the lowest one and was still able to get random crashes with my cpufreq test case, so I doubt this had anything to do with high freq. Only that 1.6GHz was the one the most sensible to a voltage without 75mV up from upstream rk3399 OPP voltage values. And 408/600 were the less likely to crash but still crashed from time to time.
I don't know if you know how to redefine the opp voltage values for cpu-b. I will try to post you my patch asap ( currently on my phone).

@TDCroPower I use "apt-mark hold <package>" and then on "apt upgrade" I get the package marked as hold told:
The following packages have been kept back: linux-dtb-edge-rockchip64 linux-headers-edge-rockchip64 linux-image-edge-rockchip64 The following packages will be upgraded: openmediavault-compose still "apt list --upgradable" tells the on-hold packages as upgradable.
I mean "apt-mark showhold" is the way to tell which packages will be kept on upgrade.
For the second question, why on your second box you do not have linux-dtb-* and linux-image-* on hold, I can only guess from the armbian-config code (ie /usr/lib/armbian-config/jobs.sh and search for "Freeze") that armbian-config only Freeze the installed packages with the name including the BRANCH value from "grep BRANCH /etc/armbian-release".
I believe if you have linux-dtb-edge-rockchip64 installed with BRANCH=current in /etc/armboan-release then armbian-config will fail to mark the package with "edge" instead of "current" in its name as on hold.

JEDEC standard JESD84-B51 defines the eMMC Data Strobe line, which is currently used only in HS400 mode, as a device->host clock signal that "is used only in read operation. The Data Strobe is always High-Z (not driven by the device and pulled down by RDS) or Driven Low in write operation, except during CRC status response." RDS is a pull-down resistor specified in the 10K-100K ohm range. Thus per the standard, the Data Strobe is always pulled to ground (by the eMMC and/or RDS) during write operations. Evidently, the eMMC host controller in the RK3588 considers an active voltage on the eMMC-DS line during a write to be an error. The default (i.e. hardware reset, and Rockchip BSP) behavior for the RK3588 is to activate the eMMC-DS pin's builtin pull-down. As a result, many RK3588 board designers do not bother adding a dedicated RDS resistor, instead relying on the RK3588's internal bias. The current devicetree, however, disables this bias (`pcfg_pull_none`), breaking HS400-mode writes for boards without a dedicated RDS, but with an eMMC chip that chooses to High-Z (instead of drive-low) the eMMC-DS line. (The Turing RK1 is one such board.) Fix this by changing the bias in the (common) emmc_data_strobe case to reflect the expected hardware/BSP behavior. This is unlikely to cause regressions elsewhere: the pull-down is only relevant for High-Z eMMCs, and if this is redundant with a (dedicated) RDS resistor, the effective result is only a lower resistance to ground -- where the range of tolerance is quite high. If it does, it's better fixed in the specific devicetrees
But that would requires board designers or the author of the above rk3588 commit to confirm the same is done on most rk3399 boards.

I believe the upstream fix https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/drivers/regulator/core.c?id=8a866d527ac0441c0eb14a991fa11358b476b11d will do the job (in 6.1-rc1 so to be expected in Armbian edge if you want to try EMMC anew when it lands). This is likely the same issue as before the bad commit I pointed at the code only called set_machine_constraints once. Still, requires testing (I saw that a lot of rk339 boards removed hs400 in Armbian, maybe that will fix them all).
regulator: core: Resolve supply name earlier to prevent double-init Previously, an unresolved regulator supply reference upon calling regulator_register on an always-on or boot-on regulator caused set_machine_constraints to be called twice. This in turn may initialize the regulator twice, leading to voltage glitches that are timing-dependent. A simple, unrelated configuration change may be enough to hide this problem, only to be surfaced by chance. One such example is the SD-Card voltage regulator in a NanoPI R4S that would not initialize reliably unless the registration flow was just complex enough to allow the regulator to properly reset between calls. Fix this by re-arranging regulator_register, trying resolve the regulator's supply early enough that set_machine_constraints does not need to be called twice. @TDCroPower OMV release are tied to a specific Debian release OMV 5 is buster only, OMV6 bullseye. OMV 6 should be pretty stable, a rc is close to release. As for the upgrade from google I get

OMV5 systems with version 5.6.18 or later can be upgraded via the command line tool omv-release-upgrade. Please note that this migration path has not yet been tested with many systems.
I cannot tell for certain but I believe omv-release-upgrade also upgrades Debian from buster to bullseye.
