  1. Yes. I've got a big heatsink on the way for my Rock Pi4B. That one has 4GB ram vs 2GB of my M4. So with that I can do 4K or higher renders during a week/month of all of them. I've added all the original .png renders + all the blender files as attachment file. Everyone can do a higher resolution render (8K, 16K, 32K???) if they want. Or play with it a bit. Here are all of them. These are 1440p but converted to jpg. Armbian transport Snowy Armbian Old school Armbian Armbian in space Empire of Armbian Armbian @ the beach Armbian__Backgrounds.7z
  2. Armbian as transportation company (of 1's and 0's)... This will be my last submission. I've got too many other things to do. Otherwise I would never stop. Cheers.
  3. It makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one. I'll try that another time. It seems to take a long time to build. I'm building a WiP image for the OPi3. I've overclocked my cpu to 4.2Ghz and it's already more than an hour compiling. I wonder how long this will take. I'm very glad to finally have this working. But this makes me think I also could use an Odroid H2 for cross-compiling. I hate to have my pc blocked for long. First the N2... Thank you.
  4. I didn't have one. I always used prebuild images. Now this seems a lot easier than what I thought. I had tried multiple times in the past to follow these instructions https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_Build-Preparation/ What do I need? x86/x64 machine running any OS; 4G ram, SSD, quad core (recommended), VirtualBox or similar virtualization software (highly recommended with a minimum of 25GB hard disk space for the virtual disk image), Setting up VirtualBox and compile environment is easy following our Vagrant tutorial, Docker environment is also supported for building kernels and full OS images, The only supported compilation environment is Ubuntu Bionic 18.04 x64 (no other releases are supported! It has to be exactly 18.04 otherwise default compiler versions might not match so if you’re on an older Ubuntu release upgrade to 18.04 now, if you use a newer Ubuntu version start with 18.04 from scratch), installed basic system, OpenSSH and Samba (optional), no spaces in full path to the build script location allowed, superuser rights (configured sudo or root shell). I thought you needed every bullet point, and I never could run vagrant right. I didn't know what it did, and didn't know why I needed it. Even this I had done, I was in the build directory If only I had typed ./compile.sh apt-get -y install git git clone https://github.com/armbian/build cd build Only the last step not. So stupid. Thank you so much, it's clearly a lot more simple than I made it look in my brain. I've now got mini.iso, and started the build process. It's one of the most simple things, while my autistic brain made it take months just by not wanting to understand it's simple. Well. Nothing is hard, when you know how to do it.
  5. I'm trying to set up a build system, but I ran into a problem that I can't seem to find a solution for. I've never done this, so I'm a total noob at this. So steps I took. Set up a virtualbox with Ubuntu Bionic 18.04. Then followed this guide. https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_Using-Vagrant/ Until step : vagrant up. I get an error: VT-x is not available. I've got an I5 2500K. Intel Virtualization is enabled in my bios. This is what's on the intel website about my CPU. Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x) ‡ Yes Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d) ‡ No Intel® VT-x with Extended Page Tables (EPT) ‡ Yes My motherboard should support it (ASUS p8z77-v). I can't find anything about VT-x in the BIOS. But from the other forums I red, it should be on when Intel Virtualization Technology is enabled. I did change this from the instructions : vagrant box add ubuntu/xenial64 to this -> vagrant box add ubuntu/bionic64 I do not think this has anything to do with it. I hope someone can point me out into the right direction. Greetings, NicoD
  6. That seems a very paradoxical question. To ask that question you have to first start writing a question, but the question you ask can't be written before you start asking a question. It's like a new big bang is happening in my head. Welcome to the forum.
  7. I've tried to make a build system today. I've gotten so far to get the newest version of vagrant installed and up. But then I clearly forgot about it. I noticed hours later that virtualbox was running. I'm getting closer to building one I've finished the Armbian Terracotta Army. Here is a HQ render of it. It's maybe too busy, but it's something different.
  8. I can't wait to have a good working image for that and the Pine H64. Today I tried the new OPi Ubuntu image. So bad in so many ways. I hope it can be made workable, and that it can perform well. Oh, so they all fossilized while standing up? What a devosion to your emperor to not even "fall dead"
  9. Then there ain't enough soldiers.
  10. Something else I tried. The Armbian Terracotta Army. I need to add textures to the ground.
  11. Improved Armbian in space. Raised the letters, darkened the background and made flames for it's jetpack. I'll do this one with rounded shapes now to see how it compares.
  12. I believe the temperature isn't showing right. It shows it's constantly at 55°C at idle, and above 60°C when in use. But the heatsink isn't even hot to the touch. It feels very cool. This can't be right. Must be something wrong with the temperature sensor settings. No auto-resize either. I'll try updating to bionic.
  13. I've just installed it, and first impression is, it isn't much better than before. It's unstable. Runs at 1.5Ghz, but seems a lot slower than others at the same speed. 1.8Ghz isn't possible anymore. Temperatures are of course better now. 14. My pc workbench. People complain aboutmy kitchen/electronics & solder space. I say you've got to put it where there's room.
  15. We'll see tomorrow. Yesterday I though I was finished and today I started again. I've just put the space one on my armbian desktop. I use a taskbar on the underside, and the underpart of the letters is covered by it. So I need to raise all the letters a bit, a maybe put the figure a bit lower too for better composition. Thank you.
  16. Last one. Armbian in Space. It's not a high quality render. If you like it, then I can make a high quality one. I'm sick of waiting +1 hour for the render to finish. I could darken the background a bit more, or maybe choose a better one. But you can get the idea behind it. If you choose one, then I can make a very high quality 4k render of it. You can make a choice of which background, and also rounded off or straight lines. Thank you all. Greetings. NicoD
  17. I again tried something different. I tried snow. It's not easy. I've been cursing for hours on it, but couldn't get it to work correctly. It doesn't work in high quality render engine. Thank you, I would love that. I'm going to try one more in space. I've got the idea what it must look like, now I've got to make it work too.
  18. I will try that, I don't think it's easy to do. I now done a clear background with the color of the current background image. I like this one too.
  19. Now with the Armbian font type. I'll now try some different things.
  20. What did you try yet? Did you connect the camera? Did it show up? You can check this with : ls -ltrh /dev/video* If it shows up, download mjpg_streamer. Set it up, and ready. Here how to set up mjpg_streamer: https://www.acmesystems.it/video_streaming If it doesn't show up, then....... another story.
  21. It's not like I would ever have expected a compliment of you. Your ivory tower is way too high for that. Where were you when the previous wallpapers were made? I'm no designer, and have no experience. I'm colorblind and have aweful eyesight. I do like modelling, but framing is something I've never done. Without the pippete to choose colors from known places it would all be left grey. So I don't know what it looks like to anyone else. I'm more than used getting laughter and comments on my drawings when young. I rather hear the truth than a fairytale. Someone asked me if I would like to try make a 3d model, and friendly people then try to do their best. Even if it was months ago it was asked. I love those old 80's/90's kids shows. The simple artwork and how it's shot. It's things like that I like to recreate. I didn't want it here, but it always seems to get in there. Somebody gotta fill the shoes. Rather Igor than me. I'm thankfull for all the work and time he, you and all the others have put in this. This is/became a big project that comes with many big and small problems. It's a big effort of different people with different thoughts an behaviours to try and find a way, and deside what's priority. Somebody has to decide. This can clash with others their idea's. Hasn't life always been since Kindergarden.
  22. Thank you. I've visited that page so many times but didn't notice that it's there to download. I'll add that tomorrow. Then I'll take my hands off it. I spend enough time on it, time for something else. It's up to Igor to decide to use it or not. Greetings.
  23. I again changed many (small) things. Changed the clouds, changed the snow hight, made the pedestal and letters larger, changed the pedestal color again, base color is now the same as on the armbian forum, and armbian is now the same red as on the forum. It does jump out a lot more. I moved the project to my pc since it's gotten too big for the M4. I've rendered it in a higher quality (1440p @ 225%). Downside was that the filesize is now 44MB. I can't upload it here, so I converted it to a jpeg with loss of quality. I still want the right font type to the letters. If anybody knows it.... I
  24. I'll upload everything when ready. I first need to make sure that all used files are collected wih it. I'm a bit sloppy and just use files from my /Documents or /Dowloads. Not the good way, so I'll need to do a clean-up when ready.
