  1. Hi, I have 3 Orange Pi Zero running with the same sd image. It's all working fine, but yesterday I added a fourth device, which for some reason took a MAC address that is the same of another device, causing issues on the connection for both of them. I'm using the mainline kernel ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.18-sunxi. Searching on the internet, I found someone saying that mac addresses for Orange Pis are randomly generated every time the device reboots, but in my case the taken MAC address is always the same for every device. I saw to that people suggested to check the content of the /etc/modprobe.d/8189fs.conf file, but I don't have it. Do you encountered the same problem? How is the mac address generated on the Orange Pi Zero? Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
  2. Hello all, i wonder what is the status of the support for this touchcontroller. I've got to know that in latest kernels there is prebuilt support for it and in my latest armbian there is a module for this. But following this: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=143581 i failed to make it work. May be i've done it the wrong way in armbianEnv.txt tho. Should i just insert theese line into this file? dtparam=i2c_arm=on dtparam=spi=on dtoverlay=ads7846,penirq=25,speed=10000,penirq_pull=2,xohms=150 According to dmesg log, module is loading, but nothing happens when i touch the screen. If not, should i instead use methods that suggest compiling this driver? https://sourceforge.net/p/openipmi/linux-ipmi/ci/master/tree/drivers/input/touchscreen/ads7846.c I've made my tft working relatively easily, but now i seem to completely stuck.
  3. Hi all, I noticed that my OrangePi freezes after 4-5 days of uptime. Something happens (usually around 06:00) when my script simply stop working (no more log entries) and then reboots after ~12 hours (exactly at 13:17 in all occasions). Finally the orange pi becomes unresponsive and heats up to 85-90 degree Celsius. I've checked CPU temperature, disk and memory usage but haven't found anything... I'm a beginner in armbian and completely having no idea what could be the root casue. Could you please help? I've executed a diagnostics you can find it here: http://ix.io/1iQc Related syslog entries: Jul 31 06:10:01 localhost CRON[20175]: (root) CMD (/root/utils/cputemp.sh) Jul 31 06:10:01 localhost CRON[20176]: (root) CMD (free -m > /root/memory.log) Jul 31 06:10:01 localhost CRON[20178]: (root) CMD (df -h > /root/df.log) Jul 31 06:15:01 localhost CRON[20268]: (root) CMD (command -v debian-sa1 > /dev/null && debian-sa1 1 1) Jul 31 06:17:01 localhost CRON[20307]: (root) CMD ( cd / && run-parts --report /etc/cron.hourly) Jul 31 06:20:01 localhost CRON[20369]: (root) CMD (/root/utils/cputemp.sh) Jul 31 06:20:01 localhost CRON[20370]: (root) CMD (free -m > /root/memory.log) Jul 31 06:20:01 localhost CRON[20371]: (root) CMD (df -h > /root/df.log) Jul 31 06:25:01 localhost CRON[20555]: (root) CMD (test -x /usr/sbin/anacron || ( cd / && run-parts --report /etc/cron.daily )) Jul 31 06:25:01 localhost CRON[20554]: (root) CMD (command -v debian-sa1 > /dev/null && debian-sa1 1 1) Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost systemd-modules-load[216]: Inserted module 'g_serial' Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] Booting Linux on physical CPU 0x0 Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] Linux version 4.14.14-sunxi (root@xeon) (gcc version 7.2.1 20171011 (Linaro GCC 7.2-2017.11)) #1 SMP Thu Jan 25 12:20:57 CET 2018 Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] CPU: ARMv7 Processor [410fc075] revision 5 (ARMv7), cr=50c5387d Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] CPU: div instructions available: patching division code Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost systemd-udevd[323]: link_config: could not get ethtool features for eth0 Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] CPU: PIPT / VIPT nonaliasing data cache, VIPT aliasing instruction cache Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost fake-hwclock[212]: Tue Jul 31 11:17:01 UTC 2018 Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost systemd-udevd[323]: Could not set offload features of eth0: Device or resource busy Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] OF: fdt: Machine model: Xunlong Orange Pi Zero Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] Memory policy: Data cache writealloc Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost keyboard-setup.sh[229]: gzip: /etc/console-setup/cached_UTF-8_del.kmap.gz: unexpected end of file Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] Reserved memory: created CMA memory pool at 0x5bc00000, size 64 MiB Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] OF: reserved mem: initialized node linux, cma, compatible id shared-dma-pool Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] On node 0 totalpages: 131072 Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] free_area_init_node: node 0, pgdat c0dd8b00, node_mem_map db780000 Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] Normal zone: 1152 pages used for memmap Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] Normal zone: 0 pages reserved Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] Normal zone: 131072 pages, LIFO batch:31 Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost resolvconf[246]: /etc/resolvconf/update.d/libc: Warning: /etc/resolv.conf is not a symbolic link to /etc/resolvconf/run/resolv.conf Jul 31 13:17:05 localhost kernel: [ 0.000000] psci: probing for conduit method from DT. 4. Hi, I'm trying to set up an Orange Pi Zero with Armbian, so that I can use it as a Network Card (i.e. when I plug it into a computer it's automatically recognized as a Network Card). It seems there isn't enough documentation about this issue. Can anybody help me, please? Thanks in advance. Kind Regards.
  5. I know I'm supposed to log with armbianmonitor -u, but I can't behind that ***** corporate proxy. 6. Hello, I have orange pi zero with armbian and i need to upgrade kernel to version 4.x how to do it? ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 3.4.113-sun8i is it possible at all?
  7. Hello to everyone! I am trying to configure dual boot using u-boot. But I've got some misunderstandings, maybe someone will help me with that problem. When I'm booting from SD card everything works fine: rootdev=/dev/mmcblk0p1 (armbianEnv.txt) or rootdev=UUID=XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX in both cases. When I'm booting form eMMC something goes wrong: I can not set rootdev=/dev/mmcblk1p1 cause in this case I've only error message: But if I'm setting as rootdev=UUID=XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX everything works fine. Maybe it is bad way to use /dev/..., but I need it. So, I tried a lot of ways to fix that and found that, such situation only with legacy kernel, mainline works without any issues. Where I'm doing wrong?
  8. Hello everybody... I will use this small "box" as Access Point (AP) Standard scenario, hostapd + dnsmasq, eth0 and wlan0 bridged to br0 Everything works fine, except one "client" .. Hostapd DEAUTHENTICATE my notebook. It has dual band interface - 03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6200 (rev 35) (Linux Mint inside) .. This was happen on all Armbian images with 4.14.y kernel ... .. On Armbian Xenial with 3.4.x kernel this was no happened.. Wifi connection works fine, for a long time ... Heve anybody same problem .. ?? or not ..? Here is log:
  9. So trying to run some GPIO interrupts using wiringpi. Using the wiringPiISR function and setting and interrupt handler seems to work, but as soon as the first interrupt happens, the handler gets stuck in some sort of loop and just get infinitely called. Pretty sure this is some bug in sys, since the wiringPiISR function just uses sys gpio calls to do the interrupts. Could be wrong and just be an issue with how wiringPi does it. Either way has anyone come across this and know of a workaround to fix this?
  10. So I have an OPI0 perfectly running then suddenly it freezes. 11. Hello :), I have updated my system from "Armbian_5.35_Debian_jessie_3.4.113" to latest "Armbian_5.53.180722_Orangepizero_Ubuntu_bionic_next_4.17.9". With jessie there will only S0, S1, S2 displayed and Im Working with S1 (Uart1) and S2 (Uart2) from the 13 Pinheader. With Bionic and also Stretch i got S0, S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7 and none of them is working. So how can I access the Uart1 and Uart2 with the new Bionic build?
  12. Greetings, i want to run some shaders on a headless OrangePI Zero (H2+/Mali 400 running standard Armbian on mainline kernel). I saw there are drivers available now. Is there a binary blob of the driver available somewhere? Or maybe a simple HOWTO? I don't want to mess with driver compilation if I don't have to. I just want to run my shaders on that GPU.
  13. Hi, I'm running Armbian Stretch with the 4.14.y kernel on my Orange Pi Zero, as a headless Samba server. Does anyone have a link to a tutorial on how i can add a GPIO button to run the shutdown command, so I don't have to SSH into it every time I want to shut the thing down? thanks.
  14. I have a rev 1.4 Orange Pi Zero that overheats. I've confirmed this by touch and know it's a known problem. On the legacy kernel, setting CPU to 800 Mhz and RAM to 300 Mhz used to keep things cool. (e.g. "sudo h3consumption -m 800"). h3consumption doesn't exist on 4.14 kernels, so how do I underclock?
  15. So I have an application which requires 1Mbps UART and wasted a few days trying to debug my board thinking that was the issue (was working perfect at 115kps), so I decided to scope the UART TX from the orangpi, and of course that signal was not actually working at 1Mbps. Scope is saying that its running at 750Kbps. Did some research and it looks like there is some sort of UART scaling frequency set in the driver, which excludes certain bitrates from running (check here https://github.com/jernejsk/linux/blob/master/drivers/tty/serial/sunxi-uart.c#L356-L381 ) Did some further tests and 460Kbps works fine as well as 1.5Mbps (so its not an issue with the driver not being able to go past 750Kbps), but both 921Kbps and 1Mbps default down to 750kbps. Has anyone run into this issue, and figured out how to reconfigure the UART driver to run at 1Mbps?
  16. I am trying to use fbtft on the Orange Pi Zero, seems broken. Looks like an issue with the SPI driver itself. My skills are not enough to debug this. I am doing something like this: modprobe fbtft_device custom name=fb_ili9340 gpios=dc:3,reset:0 speed=32000000 busnum=1 rotate=90 The LCD functions but stops updating after a couple of mins. Linux is still running but dmesg shows a crash. Login shows "ARMBIAN 5.31 stable Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS 3.4.113-sun8i" root@orangepizero:~# uname -a Linux orangepizero 3.4.113-sun8i #18 SMP PREEMPT Thu Jun 15 02:16:06 CEST 2017 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux It is not related to SPI speed, i;ve tried as slow as 4Mhz. Anyone any ideas, this seems plain old broken to me rather than any configuration issue ? Thanks, Jon
  17. Hi all, With a fresh install of version 5.38 (jessie 4.14.15, idle since 5 min.), I've a CPU throttling and load issues : CPU frequency never drop under 1200MHz and CPU load never drop under 1.00. The same board and SD card with fresh install of version 5.35 : CPU is most of the time @240MHz and load is way under 1.00. I've found a different value in /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/sampling_rate file : 10000 in v5.38 7044000 in v5.35. After applying the old value, CPU frequency drops when idle, but the load stay at 1.00 (cosmetic issue?) Same issues when upgrading from 5.35 (or 5.37) to 5.38.
  18. Hi Srs! I have problem in using Armbian 14 with orange pi zero .. I already used the Armbian system in my OrangepiZero. However, I reinstalled everything again and downloaded the latest version of the operating system here on the site. When I try to use onboard audio (both capture and output) does not work. I have already enabled the analog-codec and it still does not work. Remembering that I already used the equipment with the Armbian and used the onboard capture of the board perfectly. Thanks!
  19. Hi All! OS - ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.18-sunxi OPI Zero. armbianEnv.txt : overlay_prefix=sun8i-h3 overlays=uart2 param_uart2_rtscts=1 RTS CTS don't work I check the work of the logical analyzer. The line RTS does not change the voltage during the request for data transmission. This is necessary for me to connect the MAX485 chip to UART2 OPI Zero.
  20. I'm using an Orange pi zero H2 and currently have the pi configured as an access point. I want to be able to SSH into pi using access point wifi, then switch pi onto my home wifi network. When I use the "nmtui" utility I no longer see any available wifi networks. Is it possible to see available wifi networks when I am using the pi as an access point? Thanks, orangepi noob
  21. Hi. I want to use uart on 500000 baudrate. Before i had used it with ARMBIAN 5.32. But i had some problems about board temperature. So, i updated it brand-new image. it was 5.38. and then some packet are crashing or missing frequently. I used same program for this test. I only counted received packets. It works fine with ARMBIAN 5.32 user-built Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS 4.11.7-sun8i Received packets are 4500000. But, it doesn't with ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS 4.14.18-sunxi Received packets are 4504376. I also checked configuration using "setserial". the differece was only irq number. please i need your help. what should i check?
  22. Hello everybody, I have a orange pi zero h2 and when I connect the gpio on some pcb, sometime the pcb inject file inside the linux and create dpkg error. is it possible to enable something to protect the system. thx you
  23. I know that now mainline kernel is supported on orangepi zero so is there any way to activate the composite video output.?
  24. Can you power an Orange Pi Zero or Orange Pi One from the 26/40 pin header ? I am pretty sure the answer is yes as the OPI Zero expansion board has a power jack. But is there any information regarding how to do this ? Do you feed the +5v or the +3.3v Is it the same for all of the RPI compatible headers ?
  25. I have no need at all for the built in wireless on an Orange Pi Zero board. Is there a way I can disable it entirely to save power? Through the DT or some other means? Thanks!
