Jean-Philippe Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Hello all, Is there any chance to run mainline kernel? Support for rk3588 seems to be starting with 6.2 and 6.3 (mainline has dts for rock 5b). 1 Quote
Efe Çetin Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 It's worth to try it if we get pci2 support 0 Quote
fredrum Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 +1 When might we see a switch to a 6.x mainline kernel!? 0 Quote
Werner Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 Such development usually takes a lot of time. Don't expect much within this year. 0 Quote
buzzfab Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Anyone know if this is any closer? This board, like the "FriendlyElec NanoPC-T6" and the "Rockchip Rock5b" utilize the rk3588 SOC. Both of these other boards have the following line in their respective files linked below KERNEL_TARGET="legacy,edge,collabora" https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/main/config/boards/rock-5b.conf https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/main/config/boards/nanopct6.wip current version for rockchip-rk3588-collabora is 6.4 current version for rockchip-rk3588-edge is 6.5-rc1 Anyone know why the OPi5+ is stuck with only the Legacy 5.10? Sorry for the newb questions I am very new as this is my first SBC really and don't know if I can just change the line in the .conf file or if there are other things I would also need to change 0 Quote
Efe Çetin Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 @buzzfab i implemented 6.5-rc1 support for opi5 in the past. I'll also add support for opi5+ this week or next week Note: It's experimental, most thing is not mainlined yet. 2 Quote

I just added Rock 5 yesterday https://github.com/armbian/os/commit/c18ab86105e88571453afadf9dd72432a94b75b1 0 Quote
nicolho Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 @Efe Çetin Thanks a lot, I was waiting for it, until I checked the repo and saw your last commits and OPI5+ automatic builds. 0 Quote
