Thom Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Hey everyone, I am attempting to update my Orange Pi Zero from Armbian 22.0.2.1 to the latest 23.11 version however I am running into the issue that I am stuck on how to perform this update, I have tried it using the sudo apt dist-upgrade command and tried regular sudo apt update and upgrade commands but everytime it says there are no new updates available (also no errors), when there is clearly a new version 23.11 available here: https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-zero/ What am I doing wrong? Is it maybe because it says unsupported userspace? 0 Quote

Solution Gunjan Gupta Posted December 18, 2023 Solution Posted December 18, 2023 Bionic has been out of support for some time now. Try upgrading to focal and then to jammy to get to latest release. Alternatively, you can also download and flash latest image from the download page. 0 Quote
jscax Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I don't know how I ended up with Lunar installed on my OPI0. I did a do-release-upgrade because it was suggesting to run this command to upgrade to the next version. I launched it and now I have Lunar installed: cat /etc/issue Armbian 23.8.1 lunar \l uname -r 6.1.63-current-sunxi Now logging in is saying this: Your Ubuntu release is not supported anymore. For upgrade information, please visit: http://www.ubuntu.com/releaseendoflife New release '23.10' available. Run 'do-release-upgrade' to upgrade to it. I'm sorry I'm a little bit out of the know of the Armbian flow and sometimes I'm surprised while maintaining my armbian machine updated. Am I on a wrong path? thank you 0 Quote

jscax Posted February 14 Posted February 14 So I went out of the armbian world I suppose... how to get back? 0 Quote

What Werner meant is that if you are running system upgrade scripts that are not made by us ... it could cause troubles. Those upgrades are fragile in 1st class world, while here ... its just more possible problems. However ... you can still try. Just don't hate us if something goes wrong You need to upgrade to keyword "noble" ... 0 Quote
