  1. Thank you. I'll try that. For now I've got everything I need working in Bionic. I'll let the RockPiX do another build. It is slow, but steady @Werner I'm on 5.9.15 Bionic and can confirm analog audio not working. HDMI sound works fine. I'm using a 1080p display so can't test that resolution.
  2. It's in games mostly. All Ubuntu repo's. (nexiuz, alien Arena, ...) And a few programs that do not work correctly. Like Blender, but this is because the later versions need OpenGL3.0. What is not available yet in panfrost. I'm often unable to install 2.79 on Focal. And sometimes it does work, so I've no clue why, what or how. So nothing that Armbian can help. But it does stop me from switching to Focal.
  3. I've build a new working image. Bionic mainline. HDMI works, flashing led works. I'm happy Now "Station P1" instead of "Roc-RK3399-pc". I wonder if the repos of Focal will ever improve. Still all the bugs that were there when it was new. A bit a shame.
  4. It's been fixed to my knowledge. It was the mesa update that was buggy. Still a few other bugs need to be worked out. But this problem seems to be gone. I do think there's another issue. Panfrost is enabled by default in desktop and server images, I don't know if it has a path for correct update. Certainly for server images I'd disable it since it can only make problems. For desktop I don't mind. The other issue with ondemand governor I've not seen anymore. So might also be fixed. If anyone could confirm.
  5. I build Bionic legacy today and didn't boot, no led on. Why didn't I check here Took my poor RockPiX 5 hours and 30 minutes to build. I'll try again tomorrow. Now the build should go faster. Thanks.
  6. Wow. Does your family know what Armbian is? Cool family if so. Nobody in my family knows what Linux is, and wouldn't understand if I told them. And I make videos about it. I hope they are happy with their gifts. Armbian all the way
  7. I've gotten it from Firefly. Didn't need to pay income taxes or shipping. That's a game of chance. Many times I need to pay for income taxes, sometimes not. For this I wanted to take my chances. I could use a 2nd RK3399 with 4GB ram. Ideal for running mainline while my M4V2 runs legacy. It does run too hot for having such a case(85c at 2/1.5Ghz). I'll see to improve that. I suspect thermal pads that I'll replace with copper shims. Done that on my M4V2 and the difference is huge.
  8. I've gotten my Station P1. It looks great. I love the metal case. There seems to be PCIe GPIO's. Also RTC battery. It is sweet. Thank you for informing me about this.
  9. I've really got no clue what could cause this. Problem is that I can't reproduce this on my M4. Did you try with focal 5.9? Maybe another sd card, tho I don't suspect that could cause this. If anyone else has this issue, please speak up.
  10. There's a few things springing out. 17.643595] panfrost ff9a0000.gpu: clock rate = 500000000 [ 17.688112] panfrost ff9a0000.gpu: mali-t860 id 0x860 major 0x2 minor 0x0 status 0x0 [ 17.688123] panfrost ff9a0000.gpu: features: 00000000,100e77bf, issues: 00000000,24040400 [ 17.688129] panfrost ff9a0000.gpu: Features: L2:0x07120206 Shader:0x00000000 Tiler:0x00000809 Mem:0x1 MMU:0x00002830 AS:0xff JS:0x7 [ 17.688133] panfrost ff9a0000.gpu: shader_present=0xf l2_present=0x1 [ 17.706870] [drm] Initialized panfrost 1.1.0 20180908 for ff9a0000.gpu on minor 1 [ 17.723351] cdc_acm 7-1.3:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device And at the end you've got [ 20.317067] systemd-journald[684]: Received request to flush runtime journal from PID 1 So even the server images have panfrost enabled??? Very strange. The other seems to point to a storage problem I think? All makes my head hurt. Has this always been this way on mainline? I'm still using legacy for my daily needs. I was not very aware of the issues on mainline.
  11. I've only tried a few hours without crashes and after doing update/upgrade. I couldn't do that yesterday at all. Also using Firefox crashed it every time and now not. The problem of ondemand governor is unrelated tho to the mesa issue. They might have worked together in decreasing stability since it was more stable at lower clocks but not fully. What kernel version are you using? Are you using a server image? What does dmesg say? or armbianmonitor -u I'll do more tests tomorrow.
  12. It isn't an Armbian thing. It should be in this repo, if you don't have it, add it: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers I still have questions on how and why Panfrost is enabled by default on the latest images. And it seems to be missing the graphics repo. @Igor Do you have info on that? Or maybe @JMCC?
  13. I grew up with DOS. So I also prefer to use terminal. Gives a lot more control, and makes things clearer to understand. It is not hard to learn the basics. I even made a tutorial for that. (my most useful Linux commands) Just as people had to learn how to work with Windows, it is the same with Linux. But difference is that people have used Windows for years and Linux is new to them. Then it seems as if Linux is complicated. For the noobs it has become very accessible. Many Linux users even don't know about the terminal and its power. It also took me years to get used, and I'm still learning every day. But I think this way of working is way more efficient than how Windows does it. I went from advanced Windows programmer to Linux noob. And loved every second of it. Windows and x86 are to go the way of the Dojo. But it will take time for everyone to switch. I do doubt people will go to true GNU/Linux. ChromeOS and Android might be better for people not willing to learn.
  14. Update : It was a mesa bug that produced the crashes. RK3399 is now back stable with latest updates. Even at 2Ghz and ondemand governor. But not all problems are fixed yet with mesa/panfrost. The errors in dmesg are still there. And some things that use panfrost will not work. Mesa has had a major update to version 20.2.4. So if you need panfrost, best to use mesa 20.2.3. https://docs.mesa3d.org/relnotes/20.2.4.html You can also download the old version of Armbian Reforged with mesa 20.2.3. But be sure not to upgrade for the moment.
  15. How are you powering the board? With power bank it can be that the load gets too low and it shuts down the power of the power bank. I've had this with low consumption boards. Do you have a fan? Connected to 5V pins? With these connected you could solve the issue since power is always on on the gpio's.
  16. It tried M4 with 5.9.11 and can't reproduce the issue. I've tried multiple times and it reboots fast and normal. What media is it on? SD/eMMC/NVMe?
  17. @jasonyangHi. Reboot seems to be working fine for me. Just tried with M4 and kernel 5.9.11. How do you reboot? sudo reboot? What have you all plugged in? Maybe some device is stopping it to reboot.
  18. Still crashes with the driver update and ondemand governor. Also with performance and 2Ghz. Many errors in dmesg, not only panfrost related. But I'm about sure the panfrost driver is the cause of the crashes. Update : With browsing on firefox I get a lot more errors about panfrost. Now on 1.42Ghz all cores and userspace. It is more stable, but not fully. After last nights test it didn't fully crash on 1.42Ghz. But my test programs were closed, and wifi was gone. So it clearly was not ok. It was running for +13hours.
  19. @IgorPanfrost is indeed activated by default. Newly downloaded https://redirect.armbian.com/region/EU/nanopim4/Focal_current_desktop Only did update and installed mesa-utils. No upgrade. Weird thing is that the repo for the mesa drivers isn't in the repo list. So it can't update the driver. I'll update the driver and do stability tests. This is the repo : sudo add-apt-repository ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers
  20. No packages yet to update. Still the same issue. I've done a stability test last night at low frequency of 1.42Ghz all cores. And it failed. Way too high CPU consumption also happening. Many panfrost errors given. I hope the fix will be live soon. Cheers
  21. I've not tried on allwinner SoCs. You can try. Here the Box86 compilation instructions. https://github.com/ptitSeb/box86/blob/master/COMPILE.md Let us know if it works.
  22. It doesn't seem so. Enabled by default. It's a downloaded image from backups. It was 5.8.6 but upgraded to 5.9.11. I'll double check tomorrow. I'll let it do a stability test all night with 1.42Ghz all cores and userspace governor. It seems it gets more stable the lower the clock-frequency. But seems to have gotten worse the last days. It used to be usable.
  23. After changing all cores to 1.42Ghz and userspace governor I still have these errors. http://ix.io/2H3M
