cracker Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 Can you add rtl8723au (wifi) rtl8152 drivers? Unable to drive by default. 0 Quote
SteeMan Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 @cracker Have you checked and installed the armbian-firmware-full package? The default armbian-firmware only has driver firmware for the supported boards and since TV boxes are not supported the firmware you need may exist in the more comprehensive armbian-firmware-full package. 0 Quote

vovan Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 (edited) Hello, First of all thanks for the awesome work for supporting these Rockchip platforms! I've tried the Armbian_21.08.0-trunk_Rk3188_buster_current_5.10.45_xfce_desktop.img.xz for my CS968 TV box and been able to ssh to the box, but the connected HDMI TV was always blank during the whole boot process. However Xorg has been able to start, but the log file looks suspicious with multiple sections regarding resolution. I'd appreciate any thoughts regarding this situation. Below is the Xorg log file. Please let me know what kind of relevant boot log info may be needed. EDIT: forgot to mention that I've modified extlinux.conf with FDT set to /boot/dtb/rk3188-rbox-cs968.dtb. It didn't help me with ethernet, but also I lose my HDMI-output Maybe this problem also was caused by upgrading packages, but I newbie to ambian, so I don't know which algoritm to deal with those problems. vindio74 Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 I have tried hirsute 5.10.63 booting from SD card in my Minix NEO X7. I am really grateful to you for giving new life to my TV Box. HDMI and sound works from start. I´m struggling to configure network connection, would something similar to rk3318-config be possible/useful? I will try to use a wifi-dongle as suggested before. Thanks again and I will be happy to contribute with any data if my user experience can be somehow useful. 1 Quote

I updated the system and is working nicely with ssh and vnc access. I'm not able to configure a Microsoft LifeCam usb webcam though, anyone with any hint about how to proceed? thanks in advance. 0 Quote

I have LifeCam and Tandberg precisionHD webcams working with webcamoid after compiling @balbes150 GitHub build. I only had to change CONFIG_USB_VIDEO_CLASS is not set to =y in file build/config/kernel/linux-rk3188-current.config I would never had expected this some months ago. I really hope you keep updating RK3188 armbian and be able to install it in EMMC in the future. In any case, my sincere gratitude. 0 Quote
sadpanda Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Trying to revive some old boxes I've not played with in forever so pardon complete n00bness here; Hardware: Tronsmart MK908 (rk3188) flashed with finless 1.8 back in the day. I downloaded Armbian_21.05.0-trunk_Rk3188_focal_current_5.10.27_xfce_desktop.img.xz Flashed successfully with USBimager No boot. It seems possible from very old threads I may need to flash a stock rom or possibly use a loader/toolkit but I'm not seeing this info on current threads. Thanks in advance. 0 Quote

I really hope you keep updating RK3188 armbian and be able to install it in EMMC in the future. In any case, my sincere gratitude. The GitHub script seems to not be working any longer, I have tried to build new images and I always get the error: LD .tmp_vmlinux.kallsyms1 [ error ] ERROR in function compile_kernel [ compilation.sh:489 ] [ error ] Kernel was not built [ @host ] [ o.k. ] Process terminated Regards 0 Quote

Great to see rk3188 already included in the options for CSC compilations. Nevertheless the compilation is aborted with the following information: == u-boot make rbox-rk3188_defconfig == == u-boot make == .config:1725:warning: override: reassigning to symbol BOOTDELAY ===================== WARNING ====================== This board does not use CONFIG_DM_ETH (Driver Model for Ethernet drivers). BOBAH Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Hi everyone, Good news regarding rk3188 and its integrated Ethernet! I found the source of the issue - it's invalid clocks of hclk_emac (and mac_src with sclk_macref). But it may be fixed on the existing image/environment - you just should update and recompile DTc. Steps: 1. open terminal under SU and launch the armbian-config 2. then go to System -> DTc, it will open nano editor 3. find section `clock-controller` and copy-n-paste the `assigned-clocks` and `assigned-clock-rates` keys (see below) clock-controller@20000000 { compatible = "rockchip,rk3188-cru"; reg = < 0x20000000 0x1000 >; rockchip,grf = < 0x09 >; #clock-cells = < 0x01 >; #reset-cells = < 0x01 >; assigned-clocks = < 0x02 0x03 0x02 0x04 0x02 0xcb 0x02 0x1d4 0x02 0x15e 0x02 0xcc 0x02 0x1d5 0x02 0x15f 0x02 0xc3 0x02 0xc4 >; assigned-clock-rates = < 0x2367b880 0x47868c00 0x11e1a300 0x8f0d180 0x47868c0 0x11e1a300 0x8f0d180 0x47868c0 0x11b3dc40 0x11b3dc40 >; phandle = < 0x02 >; }; 4. exit with saving of changes 5. armbian-config will ask to recompile, apply and reboot - do it 6. after restarting you will see the long awaited happy blinking of Ethernet LEDs Also you may add patch to your build as well. Spoiler I put the following 3-zzz-clock_rk3188-radxarock-dts.patch file to the patch/kernel/rk3188-current/ folder diff --git a/arch/arm/boot/dts/rk3188-radxarock.dts b/arch/arm/boot/dts/rk3188-radxarock.dts index b0fef82c0..fcabb2774 100644 --- a/arch/arm/boot/dts/rk3188-radxarock.dts +++ b/arch/arm/boot/dts/rk3188-radxarock.dts @@ -153,6 +153,19 @@ &cpu3 { cpu-supply = <&vdd_arm>; }; +&cru { + assigned-clocks = <&cru PLL_CPLL>, <&cru PLL_GPLL>, + <&cru ACLK_CPU>, <&cru HCLK_CPU>, + <&cru PCLK_CPU>, <&cru ACLK_PERI>, + <&cru HCLK_PERI>, <&cru PCLK_PERI>, + <&cru ACLK_LCDC0>, <&cru ACLK_LCDC1>; + assigned-clock-rates = <594000000>, <1200000000>, + <300000000>, <150000000>, + <75000000>, <300000000>, + <150000000>, <75000000>, + <297000000>, <297000000>; +}; + &gpu { status = "okay"; }; Do you think everything? No matter how it is - the good news does not end there. The RTL8723 module (WiFi+BT usb module) also works. But you should be able to build armbian image with enabled RTL8XXXU (and probably RTL8XXXU_UNTESTED) config-items PS: And please don't ask me how nor why - I'm newbie in armbian, linux and so, just 2 months experience a whole, just good experience in debugging and hardware knowledge. br, BOBAH 0 Quote
