How to deal with cutting edge images?

  1. 1. Choose:

    • Do not build such images at all (save ressources)
      2
    • Build them but do not provide them on the download page (Github/Archive only)
      5
    • Keep them on download page but rephrase 'rolling' to 'unstable/experimental'

Besides the recommended images based on current kernel and stable userspaces we also provide cutting edge images for testing.

Unfortunately due to that we notice and increasing amount of complains about such things won't work which is for some to be expected and for the other related to unstable userspace (like Debian sid). Dealing with such support requests causes time loss on our end and frustration on user's end since these issues most likely cannot even be solved by us.

On our last Weekly Armbian Community Voice Chat on Discord we discussed this topic and came up with a few ideas how to deal with the situation.

So what do you think how to deal with this? Please let us know by voting on one of the suggestions.

Additional changes has been applied to the download pages - moving automated builds at the end, greying them out, adding additional remarks.

Stable + automated builds

Automated only:

Those automated are ATM present only for WIP / rolling targets (such as Rpi or Rockpi 5b) but all others could get them.
