No sound on HDMI

Recommended Posts

Hello
I am using Orange Pi Zero 3 and I installed the latest armbian version on it
I have the picture through HDMI, but there is no sound!!!
Isn't one of the main uses of these boards multimedia?!
Why shouldn't this board have sound?!!!

I have checked all the settings. Thank you. If there is a way, please help me

My armbian version:

Armbian_community_24.5.0-trunk.667_Orangepizero3_jammy_current_6.6.31_gnome_desktop

Perhaps you can make changes to the DTS yourself?

P.S. Fixes for this issue appeared 17 days ago.

Maybe someone from the community can check them out?

Who has these devices on h616, h618 chips.

Hello
Thank you for your answer
I don't know what DTS is, but if it's the only way I'd like to do some research. Thank you if you have an article or a link about it.
I have been working with microcontrollers for many years and recently started working with Linux boards.

Thank you for your suggestion
But my project is such that I need to create sound through HDMI.

And of course I still can't believe why the Orange pi boards have so much trouble with audio over HDMI! I even tested with an Orange pi 4 LTS and Ubuntu operating system, this board also needed settings to have sound and by default it does not create sound through HDMI!!!

Hi,

maybe you have to select the RIGHT sink using pactl or in pavucontrol (gui).

pactl set-default-sink alsa_output.platform-soc_ahub1_mach.stereo-fallback

If this works, you can suspend the incorrect sink, which has something like "codecs" in it, well, anything that is not the one above. Tipp: you can use Tab to autocomplete, if your sinks happen to be having another name, which would be so weird.

pactl suspend-sink NAME_OF_THE_WRONG_SINK_USE_TAB_TO_AUTOCOMPLETE

best regards.
