vampiro Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Hello everybody, I have the same problem with an A20-OLinuXino-LIME2 card. I need to connect an HDMI screen for the card to boot. My device was running 24 hours a day for 7 months until the update of this package visibly: u-boot * linux * lime2 *.
vampiro Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 So for my A20-OLinuXino-LIME2 card to replace the 5.35 version: Package 5.31> http://apt.armbian.com/pool/main/l/linux-u-boot-lime2-next/linux-u-boot-next-lime2_5.31_armhf.deb dpkg -i linux-u-boot-next-lime2_5.31_armhf.deb reboot Enjoy! It works ! Thank you

Toast Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 is the update published yet or is it still on old figure i reinstall if its published so i can get my squeezebox back

Jens Bauer Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Just came across this today (Jan. 12, 2018). This might explain why my CubieBoard2 never started up after a power outage on Christmas Eve 2017 (around 6pm ... 8pm). I wanted to log into my server using SSH. It's located 200 km from where I live, so I don't just go there. It'll cost the price of two CubieBoard2's to get there and back. That means my Armbian torrent server is down for approximately another 5 months. Yesterday, I had another look at the ExpressoBIN and it seems that with a 4x SATA and a USB3.0 Gbit Ethernet (with built-in USB3.0 hub) would be a quite capable server. I know that the ExpressoBIN image is still only in the testing stage, but I'll be quite interested in making the move; especially the day SATA-boot works.
Igor Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 This issue should be fixed now with apt update & apt upgrade.
Evgeny Fadeev Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 21 hours ago, Igor said: This issue should be fixed now with apt update & apt upgrade. I did some experiments about topic issue. I did play with Cubieboard 1 and 2. Cubieboard 1 works fine with Armbian 5.2.5. Cubieboard 2 has starting problem on both Armbian 5.3.5 and 5.2.5 I do not use HDMI interface. I'm just using serial interface with USB - COM. I have used different scenarios to reproduce this issue. BTW I have loaded Cubeez on EMMC. 1. If I'm trying to start from SD card after Cubieboard 2 was unpowered and serial interface unconnected during 10 or more minutes - board unstarted. 2. I start with Cubeez from MMC - board started. After that I put SD card to board and just repower - board started with Armbian good. I can wait a few seconds or few minutes between power off and on and Armbian start good. If board powered off but USB - COM connected, looks like we have powered CPU through contacts TX and RX. And board will started good from SD card even if more period of time power supply unconnected. So looks like some data keeps holding in memory...

Unfortunately, my CubieBoard2 has to be kept off for a few more months (likely until June or July), as it's very expensive for me to travel to where it's located. (It would cost approximately one RAM block to go there and back, so I need to be able to stay there for at least a month, before it pays). -But I hope that when I go back there, I have one or two ExpressoBINs so that one can reboot the other if necessary.

Toast Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Didnt work with HDMI or without.. sorry for sounding dumb its hard to keep track of every OS but how do i get a proper debug log (ie verbose startup ?)
Toast Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 @Igor seems like its stuck on this, it is a vanilla config no added or modifed sys configs

Igor Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Unfortunately, I don't have Cubieboard 2 while my Cubietruck (very similar) boots fine. Can you try this image:https://dl.armbian.com/cubieboard2/archive/Armbian_5.37_Cubieboard2_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.14.7z

Evgeny Fadeev Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Igor, it works!!! But something wrong with nmtui. I can't do exit. Forced to do ctrl-c. 1
Igor Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Strange. I booted Stretch CLI image on my Cubietruck, connected with eth0 ... nmtui-connect and connect to wireless. No problems. http://ix.io/EBc
Evgeny Fadeev Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I don't use ethernet connection. I'm using just wifi. I will check once again. BTW. I have executed apt-get install xorg lightdm xfce4 tango-icon-theme gnome-icon-theme Result OK. After that I have executed apt-get install tightvncserver thunar-volman udisks2 gvfs Result negative. Take a look attached. vncserver.txt
Evgeny Fadeev Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Ooh, it looks like the problem was on server. Now all loading good. 1
Evgeny Fadeev Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 VNC working good. I've attached desktop view. I have got it through remote vnc connection. Desktop.zip
Evgeny Fadeev Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Igor, this release has minimal desktop configuration. It has not installed browser? Desktop looks similar as on Orange Pi Zero. It's Debian not Armbian.

Armbian desktop is currently available only on desktop images. Working on it to provide a package which would transform CLI image into our desktop. Still some work: https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/master/lib/desktop-ng.sh Only Xenial based desktop is available at the moment, while Stretch you need to build on your own. It looks and acts more or less the same. https://dl.armbian.com/cubieboard2/archive/Armbian_5.37_Cubieboard2_Ubuntu_xenial_next_4.14.14_desktop.7z
Evgeny Fadeev Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Igor, just take a look at NMTUI behavior. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Desktop.zip
