If the board is not detected on your PC, try pressing the reset button behind the audio jack connector, and keeping it pressed for two seconds while giving power to the board and then try again with the male-to-male cable.

mainline support in 6.8 is to be considered experimental at most. Breaking is likely since it is bleeding edge. Feel free to use an image from earlier release. I hope at some point things get rebased on 6.10-rc where lots of new stuff hit mainline.

Hi. i have two cheap TV boxes with rk3228a. installed armbian community 24.8.0 trunk 36 rk322x bookworm current 6.6.32 minimal img and loader "rk322x_loader_v1.10.238_256.bin" using "rkdeveloptool" with commands rkdeveloptool db loadername.bin rkdeveloptool wl 0x0 imagname.img the first boot was fine and started normally. when rebooted the device, it's just dead. only blue LED and blinking red LED. but nothing! and the device wont go on Maskmod to try another img or something!!

Connect usb cable into an Android smartphone and select "USB Thetering" in smartphone... But in new release(v20240522) Ethernet was showing working(not tested), and wifi too(tested). I've give up because can't add CAN network module(don't know how), this is necessary to run my project (3d printer with klipper and can toolhead).

I've done quite a bit of searching and can't find anyone else reporting this specific issue. As the title says any 6.8 image I try fails to boot. The LED is red for approx 4 seconds, turns green for 2 or 3 seconds, and then turns red again and stays that way no matter how long I wait. There is never any video regardless of which HDMI port I use. I've tried the following images: Armbian_24.8.0-trunk.85_Orangepi5-plus_noble_edge_6.8.12_gnome-oibaf_desktop.img.xz Armbian_24.5.1_Orangepi5-plus_noble_edge_6.8.10_gnome-oibaf_desktop.img.xz Armbian_24.5.1_Orangepi5-plus_noble_edge_6.8.10_xfce_desktop.img.xz Armbian_24.5.1_Orangepi5-plus_bookworm_edge_6.8.10_cinnamon_desktop.img.xz 6.1 images work fine. I get the immediate blinking purple-ish indicator and video with the middle HDMI port. That didn't work either. I know sometimes certain image writers work while others don't. I've tried writing these images in balena etcher, rufus, and raspberry pi writer. This doesn't seem to effect the situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I finally got wifi working on a fresh install of 24.5.1. Video acceleration is working perfectly in Chromium but I am not having any luck playing h264 mp4 videos with hardware acceleration in vlc or mpv. Is this possible or am I missing something? CPU is around ~30% with chromium playing 4k youtube but if I play one of my mp4 files it's a solid 130%

The sound patches have now been implemented in Armbian current and edge. The community images for orangepizero3 are only updated once a week. So either wait for a new image or build one yourself from Armbian build on github.

I don't think I've ever tried to connect the NanoPi to the PC to access the SD card. I didn't know there was such a thing. I just use a usb SD card adapater.

I have successfully run proxmox 8.1.7 with lxc containers and VMs on it in this lil thing so its doable and works well, and i can run docker inside a VM with ubuntu or debian.

How to connect with usb tethering please. And ethernet work after install or only wifi

Hi, it is strange, I'm in Czech republic on Vodafone network. It really doesn't work. So I have tried to connect over my mobile phone and now it work fine. I have a "G96 mini" box that is bricked, I don't know its history but wrong firmware is a likely candidate- It contains a RK3228A and 08emcp08-el3cv100 ram & flash in a single chip. After some investigation I found how to boot from SD, boot in maskrom mode and access it with AndroidTool and capture the serial messages. I dont know was it was - with updated armbian (with Kernel 6.7.12-edge-sunxi64 or 6.6.31-current-sunci64) I do get a high cpu load and couldnt login anymore. Because of the CPU load the temperature gets high as 73-89 degree celsius Because I could login or find a error (maybe the installation is too old or too mich times updated) I didi go the way of fresh install, but had to avoid to much kernel/firmware to kernel 6.6.31-current-sunxi64.... So I ended in reinstalling all my 3 Neo2 as base-system with Armbian_23.11.1_Nanopineo2_bookworm_current_6.1.63 (latest full cli-image for bookworm for download) After initial setup (user/passwd/timezone) I did freeze kernel/firmware in armbian-config. Then updated via apt update/upgrade to Welcome to Armbian 24.5.1 Bookworm with Linux 6.1.63-current-sunxi64 With that my 3 Neo2 do work stable at 43 degree Celsius (when my room is at around 29 degree celsius) - like it was before the critical update. because they are mostly samba-servers (in theit siler aluminum-case) it should'nt be a problem to use only this kernel. Kernel 6.8.y is hit and miss. We need to separate download links somehow ... for now it was added "Kernel 6.8.y is at experimental support level! Not all features work but it runs fairy stable." to warn you. Its good to be there, as they are usable - where they work. I run several github runners on Rock5 without any troubles for months.

This is probably some (temporally) network issue. Infrastructure shows no signs of troubles.
