  1. Me neither. Pine is a typical example. They had relatively good campaign - from marketing perspective, they raised solid money, but their relations with community is failing, like you already discovered. Similar case / attitude is with Sinovoip, while other makers do cooperate with community (not just with us) in a range from solid to very good. Xunlong is among those, even it's one of the smallest company. They are actively listening to our comments, adjust future hardware design, sent boards to developers no questions asked (all other makers too, from obvious reason) and they are the only board maker that actually made some donation in last 3 years since this project exits. In general, all board vendors provide crappy software support. None is good enough for usage, but some at least work hard on it. I can put Solidrun here as an example. Since Linux is a community project per se, no company can fix their software on their own. No go. SDK, which comes from chip maker, is usually in a terrible state, unfinished, mainline support is usually mostly on community. Well, at least we have a lot of fun
  2. Great! BTW: I am failing to get latest fa BSP kernel into action. It's breaking on compilation and I am not sure if I made an error or it's broken by default. I'll do it again today / tomorrow.
  3. Yes, from next update we will provide Ubuntu desktop and Debian CLI by default. Other options you will need to make on your own. With our tools is very simple. In case you will run into the same problem, get better SD card, check power supply, ...
  4. Go to download page and check how to switch to nighty / auto built kernel. It will work in the morning after apt-get update / upgrade.
  5. https://www.google.com/search?q=apt-get+HOWTO+for+yum%2Frpm+users 1-2 seconds and you find it. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SwitchingToUbuntu/FromLinux/RedHatEnterpriseLinuxAndFedora
  6. Our main objective is (was) to provide a CLI / server images. But we also provide a simple desktop. Our system is mostly used by people who are cool with "apt-get install" way of doing things. http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/150927/is-there-a-software-center-like-in-ubuntu-in-debian
  7. Well, we use stock Debian (or Ubuntu if you use our Ubuntu build) package repository and if you don't find some packages you need to add repository where those packages exits or download and install .deb file manually.
  8. It's not part of the kernel but you can add it: http://learn.linksprite.com/pcduino/linux-applications/install-easycap-stk1160-usb-video-capture-dongle-on-pcduino3/
  9. Images are tested. Did you check standard problems? https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/
  10. Yes, it's over, Congratilation to winner @1430 - please provide your address on PM. Big cheer to all participants. We got so much nice work which is still sorting out. We can't have them all due to size limitations.
  11. Some boards have troubles with early uboot init but this I can only guess since for that I would need to see u-boot console log. There are two things what you can do from here: attach a serial console and see what's going on - where it stops and second: try image from "Night release", which has many imprevements -> https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc-plus
  12. Just a hint. This module needs to be loaded twice to work properly on legacy kernel ...
  13. They are working with this LCD: http://wiki.lemaker.org/BananaPro/Pi:LCD_Module connected to Banana M1 or PRO.
  14. He only have few demo units of this NAS. Nothing regarding price and availability yet.
  15. Docker 101 with Armbian on Odroid C2 (or any other board with docker support) http://magazine.odroid.com/wp-content/uploads/ODROID-Magazine-201611.pdf#page=26 http://magazine.odroid.com/wp-content/uploads/ODROID-Magazine-201612.pdf#page=29
  16. This driver needs some fixing ... there is one general work around IIRC - you need to load the driver ... twice And than it works.
  17. Perhaps this way? http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/34965/how-to-change-firefox-language
  18. Is the same video working with preinstalled mpv?
  19. Which OS are you using? I can find any without a problem.
  20. If you want to attach I2S sound card on this particular board (Opi Zero) you will need to solder stuff. Get rather an Orange Pi PC+ board. It's few more extra bucks but you have analogue audio connector, I2S on header and more. On board wireless is also little better. For hifi sound you need an extra board / external DAC, something like this ...
  21. Yes, that's enough. We can accept / add it to the script while I am skeptic for adding to download section since it's an older device. There is a dedicated device tree within mainline kernel, so it would be good to create new u-boot config for this board: Mele_a1000_defconfig CONFIG_ARM=y CONFIG_ARCH_SUNXI=y CONFIG_SPL_I2C_SUPPORT=y CONFIG_MACH_SUN4I=y CONFIG_DRAM_CLK=480 CONFIG_MMC0_CD_PIN="PH1" CONFIG_DEFAULT_DEVICE_TREE="sun4i-a10-a1000" # CONFIG_SYS_MALLOC_CLEAR_ON_INIT is not set CONFIG_SYS_EXTRA_OPTIONS="SUNXI_EMAC,AHCI,SATAPWR=SUNXI_GPB(8)" CONFIG_SPL=y # CONFIG_CMD_IMLS is not set # CONFIG_CMD_FLASH is not set # CONFIG_CMD_FPGA is not set CONFIG_CMD_GPIO=y CONFIG_AXP_ALDO3_VOLT=2800 CONFIG_AXP_ALDO4_VOLT=2800 CONFIG_USB_EHCI_HCD=y This is copy past from Cubieboard1 with changed DT path. Need to be tested and checked. After you are satisfied make a pull request.
  22. I am aware of proper identity absence, but we are struggling to catch expansion of the project. There was no plan for anything like this in first place In any case we made a progress with this challenge - we have new, more minimalist / safe identity and a selection of identity variations. Associations to Armbian are reliability, stability, level of support. In this case minimalist approach make sense - all this stuff is abstract, hard to visualize. For me ... Identity problem at least hasn't got worsen and if someone takes lead on developing true identity, I am more than happy to give the burden / sub project away. Seriously. We are running the project still on hobby level, so awards for the job are in this scope. For leading and design. Two person already expressed willingness to help around design in general so we might get a graphics design section within Armbian. This should become one of their core long term tasks.
