  1. There is no such cpu. Can you specify the cpu you have? There are many different versions of boxes labeled tx3 mini, so you need to be specific. Pictures of the motherboard would also be helpful.
  2. Known issue see the above thread
  3. You need to find the correct Android firmware for your device and reinstall it according to the instructions for that firmware (usually USB burning tool)
  4. The first full paragraph in the instructions says: Note: If you have previously run other distributions on the box such as coreelec the below installation will not work. You will need to restore the original android firmware before attempting the install. coreelec changes the boot environment in ways that are incompatible with these Armbian builds.
  5. This is expected behavior. https://forum.armbian.com/topic/17106-installation-instructions-for-tv-boxes-with-amlogic-cpus
  6. You are not using Armbian. This is a private fork of armbian. Official Armbian builds do have apt repositories for upgrades.
  7. Based on your question, I don't think you really understand what Armbian is. First off, armbian is the build framework used to build images for SBCs. Secondly Armbian maintains source code for kernels and uboots for various SBCs. An Armbian image is basically the output of the Armbian build framework that combines Armbian kernels and boot environments with essentially stock ubuntu or debian user environments. Armbian isn't really a separate linux So in some ways what you are specifically asking for doesn't make sense. But I do understand what you are trying to accomplish. You essentially want the armbian build framework to combine your kernel/uboot with the ubuntu/debian userspace to create an image.
  8. Emmc will be faster and emmc is more more reliable (i.e. supports more writes before wearing out) than an SD card. Though as you point out, an SD card generally provides more storage. Also the quality of SD cards varies tremendously. With SD cards if you pay a premium you can get a good reliable card, but many are inexpensive and low quality.
  9. There is no Armbian 23.11 of Bionic. You have the latest updates for Bionic on your system.
  10. Also, you may need to install armbian-firmware-full as the default firmware package in the images is a trimmed down set of firmwares to minimize size. So the firmware for your device may not be installed by default.
  11. The easiest thing to do would be to start over with a new download/SD card. The default is root/1234 and if you didn't change it, that should still be the case.
  12. That image is over two years old and not maintained. In general TV Boxes are not supported by Armbian. There was some support for the r69 in the past, but there is no current maintainer. I haven't seen anyone touch it in years.
  13. You need to be more specific. What image are you referring to?
  14. Did you do anything special for your original install? What dtb file did you use? I would suggest rolling back to an older Linux kernel to see if the issue is there (use armbian-config)
  15. But we need to know what you upgraded from.
  16. Can you be more specific? Having the system information for the working system would be necessary to understand your situation and the differences between working and not working.
  17. This is already specified in the FAQ: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/17106-installation-instructions-for-tv-boxes-with-amlogic-cpus/#comment-168724 We shouldn't have multiple places with the same/similar information or over time they will get out of sync.
  18. Moved post to the correct location for OPi Zero2
  19. Updates do remove the entire dtb directory. So you would need to put the custom dtb file somewhere outside that directory and then adjust the extlinux.conf accordingly.
  20. A couple of comments: First don't expect wifi to ever work: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16976-status-of-armbian-on-tv-boxes-please-read-first/#comment-118794 Second you mention a wifi dongle not working. Have you installed armbian-firmware-full? By default the Armbian builds only include a limited set of firmwares out of the box.
  21. @Opertron No you don't use usb_burning_tool with Armbian images. Please read the following: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16976-status-of-armbian-on-tv-boxes-please-read-first https://forum.armbian.com/topic/17106-installation-instructions-for-tv-boxes-with-amlogic-cpus And I think the following thread is for your box: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/24220-8gb128gb-media-player-h265-q96-max-smart-tv-box-android-11-amlogic-s905l-quad-core-24g-wifi-4k-set-top-box-home-theater/
  22. Ok. So the Armbian build you are using uses the android uboot bootloader on emmc to boot. Given what you report this looks like a bug in the android bootloader as it happens on Android as well as Armbian.
  23. What armbian build are you using?
