renky
orange pi one synaptic package manager I installed the synaptic package manager on Armbian Xenial. If I input something to search for one core goes 100%. The search is so slow I have not let it finish it. Is it a bug? My raspberry pi 0 is able to do a search fast. Thank you. Do you use the same SD card? And try Armbian Stretch version, that you will compare Debian vs. Debian https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-one/

elCheffe
Although this Thread is nearly one year old, I want to add what helped me with this issue: As mentioned in the cited Thread, I looked for "compression-stuff". But it was all ready uncompressed. So I did some further research and found the package: apt-xapian-index which is suggested by synaptic Description: maintenance and search tools for a Xapian index of Debian packages After installing (and waiting for the first Indexing to finish (took about 20-30 Minutes) Synaptic just worked like a charm! (My System is an Odroid XU4) So my conclusion for others: get the apt-xapian-index package
