my very first SBC (Lamobo R1) is finally completely FLOSS (free libre open source software) supported :D  So to say the best product from SinoVoip, sadly I never received an answer from  @Nora Lee @Lion Wang  about my suggestion  especially point 1 & 2 would be easy and a huge improvement of the hardware.

Digital Signage Player,  based on Webbrowser, WordPress, LAMP - using archlinux|ARM.

Sounds cool and as it has been tested on Raspberry Pi 3B, I guess it should easily run on any mainline Kernel supported SBC :)  beautiful step-by-step setup.

Quite funny is the name of the repository for german speakers: https://github.com/boschkundendienst/raspisignage     this means:  BOSCH customer service ... while his avatar is not

Bit off topic, that's what the topic is for :)
So I've been using the NanoPi M4/V2 for over a half year as main desktop and left my pc off most of the times. That today gave me a nice advantage in my electrical bill.
While the price of electricity goes up, I consumed 8.8% less only by using SBC's instead of my pc. And that not for a full year even. I can still improve with LED lights. And keep using my SBCs.

This does give an example why using ARM can be very benificial. I even made a quick video about it. Not really Armbian related. I don't think I need to convince any of you of the advantages of using arm.
But it is a good thing to think about where we can save money/energy in replacing x86 machines with arm boards.

Arm also has disadvantages off course. Less user friendly, do it yourself... I also talk about that. So you don't need to see the video any more actually, bit if you do, please enjoy.
Greetings, NicoD

Don't forget the 'grey' cost. I do not replace my "old-power-saving-bulbs" because of the grey energy needed.  Same thing as driving an old car until it breaks or buy a new more efficent car.

You would like to draw the connection of your network, your smart home sensors or some other layout, diagram...  But you are not in the mood to search the net and install something?

diagrams.net lets you create a wide range of diagrams, from simple tree and flow diagrams, to highly technical network, rack and electrical diagrams.

It’s a free, online diagram editor and viewer with a wide variety of shapes, icons, connector and templates to help you get started quickly.

https://www.diagrams.net/  is open source.

While trying to get @PittPC access to my Rock Pi 4B, but not having a domaine-name (WWW) and because of my provider using DS-Lite (Dual Stack Lite) on IPv4 I am not able to open a tunnel . While I have an IPv6 but PittPC does not %)   So, I asked him: Can I install something that opens a connection to you?

So I learned about this: MeshCentral

This is a full computer management web site. With MeshCentral, you can run your own web server to remotely manage and control computers on a local network or anywhere on the internet. Once you get the server started, create device group and download and install an agent on each computer you want to manage. A minute later, the new computer will show up on the web site and you can take control of it. MeshCentral includes full web-based remote desktop, terminal and file management capability.

As for the main software running on Pocket P.C., we will be working with Bootlin, an embedded development firm, to upstream everything from U-boot specific changes including Device Tree, Linux Kernel changes including Device Tree, Buildroot configuration and an Armbian build configuration. This means that not only will we be supporting Armbian in addition to Debian but this should make it much easier for other distributions to be supported once the changes are accepted upstream.

Nice. Bad thing though that all fonts would need to be upscaled by 500% so I can actually read them :P

Well you just need to be patient !

Around 1988, Sun Microsystem took odds on RISC processors. Since then, Microsoft and Intel have continued to promote CISC based boilers.

Now, Apple has decided to use ARM RISC procs ... 35 years later.
