  1. My Z28 PRO is running Armbian using this method and our Rock Nightly image https://dl.armbian.com/rock64/Ubuntu_xenial_default_nightly.7z ... of course, fine-tuning is needed since I don't see ethernet nor Wifi, but luckily there is a screen and USB. http://sprunge.us/UeGE Serial console login works. How to get properly into MASK ROM mode, which is needed to flash to eMMC on Alfawise Z28 PRO? Short a resistor marked on a picture and attach male A-A USB cable to USB otg port - on the other end as USB3.
  2. Not on mainline kernel. This used to be the case with legacy. I see.
  3. Download the latest image, use/switch to beta and do apt-get update & upgrade. Than run armbian-config ...
  4. https://docs.armbian.com/#what-is-armbian Most of the utilities are installable from a standard Debian repository and all you need to do is: apt install name_of_the_package .... Never heard of Katoolin tools before and I don't know if it work 100% on Armbian but since they say you need Ubuntu, get Ubuntu based Armbian. Simple as that. The problem might be if the tools were designed for some older Ubuntu and never updated ... Low-level hardware support is far the best in Armbian so the decision is fairly simple. Are there any issues? Of course they are, but way way less than anywhere else. Neglectable.
  5. Forgot to add. Tomorrow. https://github.com/armbian/build/commit/874604b94f0c48c38a7adacc9bd44e30079a5449
  6. https://www.quora.com/What-are-all-the-benefits-of-using-Kali-Linux "... who want to front like they’re computer cracking experts just because they saw it on an episode of Mr. Robot" Probably the best "Kali Linux experiences" would be Armbian Linux with modern kernel + those "cracking tools": Nmap Aircrack-ng Kismet Wireshark Metasploit Framework Burp suite John the Ripper Social Engineering Toolkit Maltego Ettercap OWASP ZAP
  7. I moved to mainline source. Should I rather go back?
  8. Kernel 3.4.y is not good enough for Debian Stretch. Most likely this is the core of the problem.
  9. And updated wifi driver with fixed MAC address is coming later on to beta repository.
  10. Try tomorrow if https://github.com/armbian/build/commit/6aa035033fc4897acffa63910fefd36e9228d992 helped.
  11. daily updates come only from a beta repository. Use armbian-config or edit armbian.list, change apt to beta ...
  12. Use beta repository, beta.armbian.com
  13. There is no MALI on PC2 yet since it's too early. Perhaps this short notice will tell most. Pay attention to the date .... if you need MALI today, you need to use a dirty old stock Allwinner kernel or trying to bring low-level support in on your own.
  14. Then the best is to wait few days that we come out with a new release, which is fixed for many troubles ... I don't recall if those old builds have troubles of this kind. In case you installed xfce on top of our server base or if build is very changed try help in "Peer to peer section".
  15. This is a bug related to nodm (no display manager). If you install/change to lightdm this won't happen. BTW. We plan to rebuild A20 Lime images this week. In case you plan to setup from scratch.
  16. It's more this way. The organizational structure of Linux, which is the main part of or similar to our project, is pretty much anarchistic, highly organized and egalitarian, but voluntary and decentralized. I would say - following your pain or joy and sharing results are the ways to go. Whatever help we get in what do we do is appreciated - we are already working at the full capacity and putting more pressure on regulars is, on my opinion, contra productive. We can easily burn out and then what? There is also a small award from my side - I do arrange free hardware samples redistribution and there is some budget allocated which is shared with regulars.
  17. I moved NEXT yesterday to 4.14.y and DEV is linked to mainline. Kernels are(will be) available in the beta repository. Currently no major if any advance. At least SD card is not recognized ... so booting from USB3 is mandatory.
  18. Video driver is still considered testing as the whole mainline build for H3/H5/A64 and we can tag this as a bug @jernej . I know that sometimes failed to detect properly but forced resolution used to work ... at least with old simple fb driver which was in temporally function until this proper driver. In any case, a kernel is a month(s) away from production state and alternatives might not be useful for your case. Except digging into the video driver there is little you can do ... I hope you can wait a while?
  19. + unplanned delay since compilation didn't start at 00:00 but manually at 07:00
  20. https://github.com/armbian/build/commit/31a71e8f57381537cda23d45f232d3b7cb288c5e They will be accessible in approximately 12 hours from now. Download page -> other download options and archive
  21. Check nightly builds. We started to enable Stretch builds ... and we will move towards it since Ubuntu Xenial is now older. Are you interested in some particular build? Automated nightly build can be enabled since we are in the process of testing.
  22. I seek some dirty and quick solution at this moment. Or no change at all. Random balancing is O.K. since I only want to share bandwidth ... later we can make some geo-based.
