atone got a reaction from Roman Khudobei in Prefill form fields on first run
I don't know if editing armbian_firstlogin is the right thing to do. Wouldn't it prevent the source code from being updated (git pull) or make it more difficult? Did you already looked at the following links?
https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_User-Configurations/ https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_Extensions/ https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_Extensions-Hooks/ Don't have experience with such things yet, but hope it helps.

The main rule of any forum: if you haven't paid the money, no one owes you anything. They may or may not help you. (Don't be surprised by this)
No one should waste time on you. How much did you spend your time and effort to help this armbian community or someone on this forum? I would understand your surprise "what is this forum for" if you would have invested a lot of effort in this forum in its development - and you would not have received anything in return.
You were given the right remark: why do you need linux, especially on TV box, if you don't know how to use linux.
The second rule: you can ask for support of the device - to the person from whom you bought it or the manufacturer.
If you bought an armbian product, you can request support from ambian. If you didn't pay armbian, then the community and the forum don't owe you anything. You can only ask and hope that someone will agree to spend their time for free on you. (Don't be surprised if that doesn't happen)

I was able to fix the issue with the help of this topic, in case anyone searching
I am also experiencing problems surfing Armbian website here. I tried to look for Rock Pi 4 B images and also for the archive. It also redirected me to "mirror.yandex.ru". Today I could access these pages, because I was redirected to another source.

atone reacted to TheLinuxBug in Armbian related videos / video documentation thread!
Hello Everyone!
Recently @NicoD has been helping to release some videos on the Armbian community as well he usually keeps up with reviewing and documenting single board computers.
This got me thinking it would probably be awesome to have a central place to document Armbian related videos and documentation that exists.
I will try to post any good Armbian related channels or videos my self, but I would invite anyone else who would like to contribute to this thread as well!
Are you a creator that loves Armbian and has made some videos about it?? Let us know and share here!
To get things started I will include NicoD's most recent videos:
This video is about an important Armbian community member which if you have been around the forum for any period of time you have probably heard from, or in some cases, had to deal with
Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule @Wernerto do the video!
Additionally, NicoD has just released a video on the Rock 5b including some benchmarks:
NicoD had reached out and asked if he could give the new Rock 5b sample I had received for a spin, and well... I couldn't say no! Great job breaking things down NicoD!
Well those are the two I will start out with, if this thread takes off I will try and update it with many more videos!
If anyone wants to see more pictures of the crafty case I made for the Rock 5b, let me know and I can attach them in this thread
Cheers all!

I downloaded the following:
Armbian_23.02.0-trunk_Aml-s9xx-box_lunar_edge_6.1.4_xfce_desktop.img.xz
dumped to a memory card.
Mounted the card and modified the extlinux.conf
copied u-boot-s905x-s912 to u-boot.ext
unmounted the card, and put it in the MXQ PRO
Booted just fine.
Logged in and ran the command:
$ sudo su -
(password)
# ./install-aml.sh
Installed to eMMC
Process works fine.

I'm an id10t. call in the St Bernards and drink the whisky yourselves. It was the .config file it uses to make flash. Its not a pure text file. Blowing it away and doing a fresh make menuconfig fixed it

Image built with Armbian NEXT® boots on BPi M5! Most important things seem to work correctly (or at least on par with master). Well done!
Just to give another perspective: I'm a .NET developer and Windows user. I first heard of Armbian on 2022-10-21 (and downloaded and flashed an official image), and built my first custom image from master 12 days ago. So NEXT cannot be so bad

atone reacted to Igor in Banana Pi M5: The last images don't boot anymore from SD card
Some people had troubles, indeed. Images were replaced today and they have been tested. Try. (download might be slow / not synced to all servers yet / use torrent or retry if you are going to try within next couple of hours)

atone reacted to SteeMan in Banana Pi M5: The last images don't boot anymore from SD card
They are inexpensive and a necessary tool to have around if you work with sbc's. I would recommend you own one.

atone reacted to SteeMan in Armbian MXQ PRO 4K s905...no work!
You are typing the command wrong. There is a space after sudo, but if you are already logged in a root, you don't need the sudo at all. And in the case you did the command without sudo you didn't include the ./
Also note that you can't install on emmc if the box has an s905 cpu (you need an s905x or newer for emmc support). There was a recent thread that talked about this in the forums.

WordPad is even worse. Use only Notepad++ or follow @SteeMan's advise (don't allow the sd card to touch a windows machine).

atone reacted to Vdue in Rock Pi 4B+ UART/UART4 no data
Atone, thanx for all your efforts. I solved it.
It's embarrassing to admit it was a ground issue. The Raspberry and the Rock Pi are sitting next to each other. The Raspi was powered under a real world scenario via a car battery and all devices were connected to the same ground (minus) terminal. I made a short cut for the Rock Pi, which I powered for this test via 15W wall power supply. Therefore, Rock Pi and devices were connected to different ground and that is bad, very bad indeed. And the Rock Pi even works with the odd 1000 Baud config. Why this is the case I do not understand but I do not care it works.
Thanx again for your efforts.

atone reacted to going in armbian-next development
Ricardo, all we need in the future is a lot of additional versioning of the commands that we use in the build system.
And a message to the user if the version is lower than the required one.
Linux OS can be anything if the versions of the commands meet the requirements.
This will save us from a lot of discussions on the forum.
