You can build your own image using the the build script available here: https://github.com/armbian/build

that is what I usually do and did earlier this morning,

Gave it just now another go but still NOK, Armbian_5.88_Orangepioneplus_Debian_stretch_dev_5.1.7.img,

thanks chaps for responding

just built " Armbian_5.89_Orangepioneplus_Debian_stretch_dev_5.1.7.img " but still NOK on OpiOnePlus, cannot SSH to it,

similar is written here , but seems to be sorted on Opi3 - unfortunately cannot use debug tools nor hdmi at this stage, hoping for permanent fix soon  ...

not sure what happened but we have code "green" again on OPiOnePlus thus we are good to go @1,8Ghz, thanks!

none, as mentioned " ./compile.sh " is being used to compile dev images, this was in reply to Werner ( yesterday ):

" You can build your own image using the the build script available here: https://github.com/armbian/build "

krachlatte, good point.

New kernels (5.1.6, 5.1.7) are good, problem is with new (>5.1.5) DBT files.

So, I hold linux-dtb-dev-sunxi64 package on 5.1.5.

Hi guys,

I'm aware of the current issues with the OPi3 images not booting and for me I can't find any of the currently downloadable images that will boot.

I just need to urgently test a couple of things - can anyone point me to a reasonably recent Ubuntu Bionic dev server image for the OPi3 that will boot/run?

I have an "old" Armbian_5.78_Orangepi3_Debian_stretch_dev_5.0.7.img that runs just fine (as long as I don't upgrade it!) but I don't have any similar Ubuntu versions. Does anyone happen to know of an archive of old versions, or maybe have something that I could download direct?

Many thanks!
George

Thanks for the suggestion but I need to use Ubuntu for the things I want to test, and I don't have *ANY* earlier Ubuntu images, only Debian :-/

Please advice, how to restore old dtb files? After upgrade to 5.1.7 (debian), OPi3 system became unstable and hang in maximum 50 minutes (sometimes immediately after reboot)

Tried to rollback

dpkg: warning: downgrading linux-dtb-dev-sunxi64 from 5.89.190614 to 5.89.190612

but still same issue.

After updating to new firmware the board not booting and wait on u-boot state

=> version

Please advice, is it possible to upload new image somehow? I mean, without flashing sd card, just in u-boot console

Can anyone please provide a working IMG (5.88.190601 - 5.1.5)?

Or tell me how to change the dtb file?

hmm just built " Armbian_5.89_Orangepioneplus_Debian_stretch_dev_5.1.7 ", but alas.

Anyone working " sun50i-h6-orangepi-one-plus.dtb " or is it something else this time?

Perhaps a 5_90 soon that will boot ( with latest 5.1.12 kernel )? cheers

There will probably no version bump until it is known to work. You do not need to wait for a bump anyways if you are using the build system. This always includes the latest commits, just take a look here from time to time: https://github.com/armbian/build/commits/master

Maybe @megi is on vacation as the last commit to orangepi-5.1 and orangepi-5.2 branch was 16 days ago. The development might be focused on 5.2 anyways as soon as the new version is officially released.

Everything is working now, I've installed to eMMC.

Thanks everyone for working on this! The OPi3 is pretty fast too!

hi - yes I fully agree with that approach. - would love to see in July first 5.2 iamges :-)

Though my suggestion would be to store in downloads ( archive ) an image that is known to work

as I tried a few, incl the one in archive,  but none were OK as has been reported here past days, my silly mistake was I erased my custom built images which worked once ( as you can see in my report 12 June ) ...

cheers

Now that the OPi3 has been moved into the Armbian downloads section there needs to be be a set of 'known-to-be-working' images made available while development on newer kernels and features continues.

There will be a number of people buying the OPi3 as their first SoC board, trying the 'factory' images (as we have all done in the past <_<) and then coming here where they will currently find images labelled "Suitable for Testing" that will not boot. This is not a great first impression of Armbian for these people, who won't yet have the knowledge or experience to hold back upgrade packages or to replace dtb files, etc. and just want to be able to boot a [mostly] working system.

Hi George

you can download this one. I hope that this help you.

http://io.mrobot.eu/deposito/Armbian_5.82.190423_Orangepi3_Ubuntu_bionic_dev_5.0.7.7z

This one it's usable, and you can use with a complete desktop.  It's far to be perfect, but usable.

(I'm writing from armbiam 5.82 - 5.0.7 installed in the emmc on my OPI3)
